The DSL is so hard to evaluate in terms of who has talent and who doesn't, especially when based on stats. You'd think that posting a .324/.405/.459 line as a 19 year old would get someone like Albert Hernandez on the map, but he's back in the DSL this season. OF Jesus Morelli, who put up very good numbers last season, hasn't done much with the AZL Cubs. Starlin Castro and Junior Lake put up decent, but not particularly noteworthy numbers in the DSL. It's disappointing to see those three not do well, but, at the same time, it's hard to get worked up over it when you're talking about different strike zones and the like that can be found in the DSL. perhaps the DSL cubs 2 play on a field with a texture similar to the surface of the moon; that could explain their error total. by the way, if you think the cubs' offense is bad, check out these stats from the NY-Penn league. the highest team BA in the league is .258; the highest team SLG is .388 and the highest team OPS is a stellar .703. by the way, my home town team - the state college spikes - have a team line of .211/.284/.301/.585. simply spectacular.
