  1. that's davis' fourth golden sombrero of the year, which kinda seems like too many tbh.
  2. yankees really gave up too much for rizzo, but i'm not complaining.
  3. right, but that's in 150 plate appearances and is a higher OPB than he had in both the minors and in college baseball (and it's being helped along by a .375 babip). there's also a good chance that some of those walks will dry up if he doesn't starting donging every now and then. he definitely has value, i just think he has a profile that presents more value to the cubs at this time than he would fetch on the open trade market.
  4. problem with hoerner is that he really hasn't done that much at the major league level. i think that tends to reduce a guy's trade value, kind of like how all the padres got for rizzo was andrew cashner because rizzo sucked ass in his first crack at the bigs.
  5. man that ACL team is pretty loaded now.
  6. part of it is that a lot of people do not understand what a typical #4 starter is like, i.e. back when ryan dempster was cranking out 3-4 win seasons with an ERA under 4 and people were calling him a #4 or "maybe a 3 at best."
  7. brennen davis was 2-4 with a double. ngowu 2-4 with a dong. preciado walked and stole 2 bases, and caissie walked 3 times.
  8. I mean there are teams named after sock colors. Not to mention the Philadelphia Phillies (what is that?), Utah Jazz, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and so on. Plus Washington is playing two seasons as Washington Football Team. Just about any choice people were going to say “uhhh that’s stupid” and then will get used to it within a couple of years. Plus reactionary racists like Rich Lowry would have been angry unless they changed it to some other term punching down on a marginalized minority group.
  9. dude needs a new twitter handle, name followed by 8 random numbers makes him look like a bot.
  10. it really is a shame that the rise of the meaningless term "cancel culture" didn't coincide with people like bonds and clemens being outed as serial PED users. i would have loved all the MLB star players going on fox to moan about how they've been canceled.
  11. uhhhhh ed howard seems to be striking out a lot.
  12. *gets hit by a strike even the umpire (ron kulpa) admitted after the game that he got it wrong.
  13. the context here is that the pelicans had 0.3 seconds left on the shot clock.
  14. wow joe west is a trump supporter? there's the least surprising thing i've heard this year.
  15. on the bright side, if he gets fired he could probably be a keynote speaker at the RNC next week, railing against cancel culture.
  16. pretty clear that this bigoted apple didn't fall from from the bigot tree.
