  1. when it comes time to foul, find luis colon and hack him across the arms. even if he's on the bench.
  2. so you want to have sex with at least 10 guys? that's kinda gay.
  3. how can you shoot 42% from the FT line??? i was better than that in 5th grade.
  4. imagine if the games were reversed and gus was calling the low-scoring mismatch while enberg was calling the back-and-forth double overtime battle? enberg wouldn't be able to keep up with the X-KSU game.
  5. thank God that gus is doing the really good game... enberg would just be ruining this.
  6. Is that John Wall? It looks like John Wall. It's probably him. "And it's... well... what's the call here?" (everyone in america yelling at their television - IT'S GOALTENDING)
  7. it's so much better watching gus johnson do a competitive game than dick enberg bumble his way through a bad one.
  8. no kidding, i should have withheld my monies until some kentucky booster is found to have paid john wall a quarter mil and then ask the administrators to re-evaluate the tourney results.
  9. change over to the xavier-ksu game after it starts up again; don't feel like watching d-bag calipari and his stable of well-paid athletes beating up on an ivy league team.
  10. he could bang one of his 20 hot girlfriends in the owner's box during the game
  11. after cornell goes down about 20 i hope they just run around punching the kentucky players in the balls.
  12. obviously the cubs aren't going to expect him to hit almost .500, but i don't have any confidence that the cubs will recognize his spring as being significantly impacted by good fortune on batted balls. this organization pays way too much attention to things like batting average and ERA and not enough attention to the more advanced metrics that take luck and random variance into account. also, i disagree that he's a better hitter than fuld (right now). fuld can control the plate while colvin's discipline is pretty bad. fuld strikes me as a guy who would at least get on base at a decent clip in the big leagues (like .330, so that he wouldn't completely suck) while colvin could probably be exploited pretty easily once the book was out on him.
  13. fukudome is a bad contract. granted he's not a bad baseball player, but he's not worth what they're paying him. grabow will probably be a bad contract, though that's pretty much small potatoes.
  14. yeah, i don't believe for a second that anyone has a perfect bracket at this point. washington, cornell and st mary's in the sweet 16, uni beating ku, ohio beating georgetown, etc.... there's just been too many upsets. there are something like 3 million entries on espn and the top score is someone who got 3 opening round games (ND, Georgetown, Clemson) and 1 round of 32 game (Kansas) wrong.
  15. he's hitting almost .500 this spring but he has 0 BB and 9 K, and his BABIP is .535. i'm pretty sure that last figure is not sustainable.
  16. i'm a little worried that colvin will make the big league squad on the basis of a spring where he had zero walks and a BABIP north of .500.
  17. how are they going to do it? i'm pretty sure there still aren't lights on the top of michigan stadium.
  18. Of course they should trade him, if they could. But they can't, so there's no point. What does this have to do with forgiving him though? His weaknesses were well known before he came to Chicago and he's done nothing but play exactly like you'd expect over the course of three seasons in Chicago. It's not like he was Pujols before then came here and turned into Neifi. for the most part, except that he missed very few games in the seasons before he came to the cubs and now he gets hurt all the time.
  19. I have to disagree. I think they are pretty accurate at the present. My reasoning is quite simply that this team will most likely change dramatically over the course of this season and off season. If things go right, we should jump quite a few spots. the orioles probably have a team that projects to be better in the future, but the cubs don't play in the division with two cash cows who win the division and usually the wild card every year. plus tampa bay is still really good. colorado is definitely ahead of the cubs though; i like their team a lot.
  20. this question is straight out of the Fox News school of polling. you might as well have thrown in "Most people who support this bill have been shown to be child molesters. Do you support this bill?"
  21. Or an over crowded system like Canada. "You need and MRI, we'll book you for one in three months." The law will be a disaster. There's a reason every republican and even 34 democrats voted against it. Most polls show the majority of the people are against it. It is also a direct violation of capitalism, free choice, and state's rights. hate to break it to you, most canadians are happy with their health care. it costs less and their outcomes are generally just as good. if you're going to get bent out of shape by things that are in "direct violation of capitalism", you're going to be complaining a lot.
  22. [expletive] on pitt
  23. stop booing you pitt hicks, the call was correct
  24. sorry folks, was in a wedding this weekend and had a number of friends staying at my house... it's been a hectic few days. we'll take rodger saffold, OL from indiana.
