    So beyond Lee, Watkins and maybe Antigua are there any other players worth keeping an eye on? Surprised the Kirk or Raley didn't show up on the roster. kirk i'm not surprised because he is less than a year out of high school, but i would've thought that raley would play full-season ball.

    I think he'll have a decent NBA career. If Singler were a Euro people would be drooling over him when the draft rolls around. well then they'd be dumb. i guess he can be your typical soft NBA 3 who can score a little bit but sucks on the boards and on defense.

    WVU got 4 more calls than Duke that game, plus a tech. when your team stands around chucking threes all day, they're not going to draw a ton of fouls.

    my favorite is when zoubek sets a screen out near the 3 point line and then starts pushing the defenders toward the basket while singler or scheyer spot up and hit a wide open three.

    anyone who roots for duke to beat butler without having gone to duke or having significant financial incentive (winning a big money pool) is a terrible person.

    if standing around shooting threes were the cornerstone to nba success, duke would churn out some really nice players.

    yeah if winn, thames and gardner struggle, i'm sure sam fuld will be the first name that comes to brian cashman's mind.

    if the cards or brewers have a better 1-5 than the cubs, it doesn't really matter that much that the worst/least important players on the cubs are better than the scrubs on the other two teams.

    carlos silva is a veteran guy who knows how to pitch, and marlon byrd loves to play, is a gamer and plays the game the right way... my opinion of john hart went down about 3000% in 2 minutes.

    i kinda agree with him on that, though. if it's one percent per OPS+ point - like the albert pujols example of being 44% better than the average player - then why not just have the average player be 0 and the OPS+ represent the actual percentage? seems like that's easier to understand than 188.

    i'd be willing to bet that everyone bitched and moaned when it went from 16 to 32 and 32 to 64, saying it's watering down the field and making it worse for everyone.

    i suppose the cubs could finish 5th if lots of things go wrong and the astros don't suck, but it's pretty unlikely the cubs are that far down in the division.

    Some guy in the league I'm in kept Lidge as one of his four keepers. He also kept KRod and kept two closers last year also. That's just dumb. Our league is by no means a bunch of experts but nobody has ever used a keeper spot on a closer. someone in my league kept joe nathan. we discussed telling her that he was out for the year, but decided that if you're ignorant enough to (a) keep a closer and then (b) not realize that they suffered a season-ending injury in spring training, you didn't deserve to be notified.
