i agree with you on both counts. i think the cubs will keep him around - let's hope if they do that it's something like a 2-year deal, not 4 or 5... maybe they've seen the soriano of their ways. but he'd be useful to a team at the trade deadline, either a contending NL team with an unproductive or injured 1B, or AL teams with similar problems at either 1B or DH. teams like the braves, dodgers, mets (probably won't be contending), a's, giants, mariners and rangers could be interested in him as a rental.
