  1. 3 ip, 2 h, 0 r, 1 bb, 2 k for cashner so far. the las vegas offense includes players like brian dopirak, washed-up prospect jeremy reed and fatso brett wallace (who's a good hitter despite being fat).
  2. picked both of tonight's games wrong. i should just give up on trying to figure out what is going to happen in the East, nothing has made any sense so far.
  3. the next collective arbitration contract needs to get rid of this stupid service time thing. there's no reason that mid and small market teams should have to keep major-league ready players in the minors for financial reasons.
  4. vitters continues to hit well and field terribly. i'd also like to know what is going on with b-jax.
  5. welp that'll do it for pittsburgh. the stanley cup finals might be really terrible this year. like the mid to late 90s when the red wings just rolled over the flyers and caps in consecutive years. whatever team comes out of the east will be way worse on paper than the hawks or sharks.
  6. well at least they have the pirates... oh wait.
  7. hahahaha pitt is playing so dumb
  8. brian gionta is such a douchebag
  9. Yeah! Crazy bastards! lol
  10. the major league leader in wins is... tyler clippard??? here are his numbers this year: 18 games, 7-1, 5 blown saves, 7 holds. granted it's really fluky, but it's hard to fill up a stat sheet like that as a relief pitcher. almost every game he's pitched in he's had a win, loss, hold or blown save (obviously some of the decisions overlap with the blown saves)
  11. i've seen literally no speculation that jackson should be shifted to the bullpen. everything i've seen projects him as a middle-of-the-rotation starter. maybe the continued ineptitude of this organization's decision making will make people realize that the 100+ year drought is not due to goats or bad luck or black cats.
  12. lebron has a ton of talent around him right now? where is it?
  13. Whoever thought that he was going to be flawless is crazy. I think the kid can get a pass for being nervous in his first homestead with the team. ok well in that case are we not counting his good offense too?
  14. I can only assume you've been in a coma then for most for the rest of your life. or he's three years old
  15. it's bad enough that the cubs suck, can't catch a break either
  16. And there is no end in sight. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=chc&m=10&y=2010
  17. that was probably before they found out he was born in 1977.
  18. As for the power numbers, no kidding, thats why I said 'they bring different things to the table'. But he could certainly match or surpass some of Heyward's #'s, like avg and obp. For the record, I don't think Castro will get more ROY votes then JHey, but thats why I asked if anyone else thought it would be possible. If Castro ends up with a respectable avg, good obp, gg-type defense, and is a league leader in something like triples, stolen bases or something, I could see the media drinking the kool-aid. He plays a premium position, afterall. that doesn't really matter to the voters. ryan braun won the RoY in 2007 even though tulowitzki had good offense and great defense at a premium position. braun had great offense but he gave away almost 30 runs with his defense. tulo was clearly the better player that year and he didn't win the award. i don't think heyward will OPS over 1.000 but he's got to be the runaway favorite at this point.
  19. 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K in his AAA debut last night. touched 99 mph a couple of times.
  20. freese is going to be a great player... if he can keep up that .423 BABIP.
  21. Yeah he isn't slow BP's kevin goldstein has said multiple times that he has average speed, but does an average runner really beat the throw easily on that liner in the gap yesterday? sure doesn't seem like it to me. he had 5 triples in 26 games at tennessee; hard to do that as an average runner.
