agreed on the sixers being good... the knicks being bad is fun but i understand it's not great for the nba. i'm just glad the sixers have a high pick; they've been in draft purgatory (end of lottery) every year.
he is? the cubs have been playing like crap since the season started and lou has basically either blamed other people or thrown up his hands. he hasn't taken any accountability at all.
Because his slow running resulted in them not being able to score a run that nearly anybody else could have scored. ok, so the giants scoring six runs, matt cain taking a no-hitter into the 6th inning and the giants winning the game are not worthy highlights but a guy running slowly is. espn should just admit it's an entertainment show with very little real analysis of sports. that's a more accurate representation of sportscenter.
sportscenter is basically worthless and people shouldn't watch it. the show is described on my dvr listings as "ESPN's flagship program provides a thorough presentation of sports news, highlights and analysis." i'm not exactly sure how Bengie Molina running slowly falls into thorough presentation of a Giants-Marlins game. people should stop watching ESPN and watch highlights on MLB network; losing ratings the only thing that will get ESPN to be less terrible.
yeah the level of lou's incompetence is really staggering now. thankfully it's with a mediocre team; i'd hate to see him sabotaging a good team the way dusty did in 2003 and 2004.
i also don't know why our fans were chanting "usa! usa!" when most of our players are from canada and we have two american players. singing that ole ole ole song was cool though.
halak has been chased from a game in each series. the habs have laid some serious eggs and made it this far; i'd expect them to play much better in game two. that being said, i enjoyed game one immensely.
really fun game to watch... the sharks looked really fast in the first period and niemi did well to keep it at a one goal deficit. the hawks played better in the second and the third was pretty even. the hawks penalties all looked legit; the sharks played a pretty clean game but got away with some subtle hooks in the hawks' zone when defenders were trying to chase pucks to the boards. niemi had a great game and to steal a game like this is big.
there's a poll on the syracuse chiefs' website asking which pitcher you're more excited to see, strasburg or chien-ming wang. i was shocked that wang had 16% of the vote.
i don't recall lou being this incompetent in 2007-08. maybe the good players just masked his lousy managing or maybe he's just become senile in the last 3 years.
