most people probably haven't noticed because the team is terrible and irrelevant, but the d'backs have a bullpen that is so bad that baseball prospectus has evaluated them as the worst bullpen in at least 60 years and, since bullpen work wasn't that common before 1950, essentially the worst bullpen ever. here are some of the ugly numbers: record: 9-20 ERA: 6.50 (the next-worst bullpen ERA is 4.99!!! league average is 4.03) BB/9 IP: 4.73 (second-worst in mlb) BAA: .296 (second-worst in mlb, league average is .253) OBPA: .377 (worst by .013) SLGA: .474 (worst by .020) OPSA: .851 (worst by .033) Save %: 56 H/9 IP: 10.63 HR: 41 (in 270 IP... that's BAD) WHIP: 1.71!!! (worst by .09, league average is 1.39) K/BB: 1.46 (worst; league average 2.09) K/9 IP: 6.90 (actually only 23rd) comparing this to the padres, who have the best bullpen in the game. the padres are better by: 3.66 in ERA (there are 10 TEAMS that have a bullpen ERA of 3.66 or better) 2.15 BB/9 IP .083 in BAA .103 in OBPA .140 in SLGA .243 in OPSA 16 HR 0.65 WHIP 2.32 K/BB 2.84 K/9 IP
