  1. Is that in State College? I don't recognize the building Pretty sure it's Lemont
  2. simpson would be lucky to make the top 30
  3. watch it again, Suh takes cutlers helmet off with both hands. Interested to see if TT watches this and still says it was clean. i'm neither a bears nor a lions fan and that really doesn't look like a big deal to me. he kind of gets cutler at the angle and as he's falling his hand comes up his back. i guess maybe he did it on purpose but it's hard to say. cutler should definitely fasten his helmet better though.
  4. i sure hope you're not one of those people who assails philly fans for being classless.
  5. the washington times repeatedly publishes information with factual errors; i don't trust them to produce accurate reporting on much of anything. i looked up some other articles that mentioned the name of the protester, and they didn't make it sound as bad as the washington times. given the way that the riots were reported, i'd expect that if the guy were badly mistreated then it would have been widely reported. not because there's an anti-psu bias in the media, but because sensationalizing sells. and no, he did not deserve to be slapped or have beer thrown on him or have his signs thrown on the ground. but if you're going to make a sign saying that the entire football program knew that sandusky was a child molester, yes you should expect to be verbally abused.
  6. I think they'll end up signing Hamels. It doesn't fit with their MO of the last few years to not sign him. How they'll fit in the rest of the roster, I have no idea. yeah i tend to agree. amaro just seems like the kid who gets money for his birthday and blows it all on an xbox and bluray player and new guitar, without considering that he'll reach driving age next year and might want to buy a car. i'm sure this idiotic spending will catch up to him eventually, but i don't think next offseason will be the time.
  7. well yeah, nobody knows if any draft pick will turn out good. but i think basically everyone has luck pegged as the best player in the draft so "don't know if he will turn out or not" shouldn't weigh into their decision. if you don't think that the consensus best player in the draft is worth pulling the trigger on then you probably shouldn't draft anyone ever. also, i don't know why you think that drafting luck means manning is immediately gone. i'm a big believer that if a guy's good enough, he'll pan out regardless of whether you play him right away or not - aikman and manning played right away on horrible teams; rodgers (extreme example, sitting for multiple years) and mcnabb and brady didn't. it wouldn't be a bad thing for luck to sit behind manning for a year or two; he could probably learn quite a bit and enjoy not getting wailed on. and like i said, if manning has a monster year and looks like he has plenty left in the tank, then they can shop luck and get quite a bit for him.
  8. why? manning will be 36 next year and coming off a season that he didn't play because of a serious injury. even he would know that the colts would be foolish to pass up a franchise qb with the first overall pick. best case scenario, manning gets healthy and is able to be effective for another 4 years or whatever, but you can't count on that, not now. and if it does pan out that way, you've probably got two really good players at the most important position in sports, and should get a nice return no matter what direction you choose to go in.

  10. Most teams schedule a patsy for homecoming or just to break up the conference grind (I suppose). i thought that's what vanderbilt and kentucky are for.
  11. that game is going to be really boring... over/under should be like 15 points.
  12. huh? AND raise his offer a little bit ($50-100 million being a little bit)
  13. OU and OSU would have the best SOS of any of the competitors, as the Big 12 is pretty far and away the best conference this year. i'd just have a hard time putting OU in when the team they lost to (at home!) has spent the last three weeks getting thoroughly embarrassed.
  14. yes that is the only reason i think the games should be played, so i can root against psu.
  15. somehow i don't think his decision to stay or go hinges on jose oquendo.
  16. has jason hanson been the lions' kicker forever? because i cannot remember a time when it was someone other than him.
  17. they do care. but they care more about their own grief/anger/disappointment than about what is best for the community. and considering that some of the victims' parents have said that the games should be played, it'd be kind of hard to argue that they care more about the victims than those who think the games should be played. i think those who want the games to be played care about the kids, but care more about winning football games. i don't think that's true at all. i think the games should be played, and i am actively rooting against psu. of course most people were rooting for psu on saturday, but there were things at the game (players walking out arm in arm, moment of silence before the game, prayer by both teams together) that were done in recognition of what occurred. i really do not see the point in punishing the psu players, opposing players, and local economies (state college, columbus and madison) for mistakes made by a handful of administrators and coaches, and i don't think that canceling 3 football games is any more a sign of respect to sandusky's victims than playing them.
  18. with lee, halladay and panda i have 1939 keeper points, so if anyone has a player who earned 61 points or less last year but figures to be awesome in 2012, i would like to trade for him.
  19. the good news for the eagles, if they fire reid, joepa is now available.
  20. they do care. but they care more about their own grief/anger/disappointment than about what is best for the community. and considering that some of the victims' parents have said that the games should be played, it'd be kind of hard to argue that they care more about the victims than those who think the games should be played.
  21. Personally I think many of the people calling for the rest of the season to be canceled are sanctimonious d-bags who are more interested in showing they care more about the victims than about doing what's best for the community and, yes, the victims.
  22. that's all the signs said, right? nothing about canceling the season or alleging that everyone in the football program knew about the abuse? Sooooo...he deserved it? He was asking for it? What exactly are you saying here? How do either of those things possibly justify the treatment he got? Would he have gotten the same reaction if his sign had said "put abused kids first," as theo said? Also that article is from the Washington times, which is not especially well known for its accurate reporting. I'm sure the guy took some abuse but I quite doubt it was the hours-long barrage that the reporter claims. And lastly, if you're going to make a sign that says the entire program was aware of sandusky's indiscretions, what's the problem with people waking by and calling him an [expletive]? He's exercising his freedom of speech and so are they.
  23. I'd trade Marmol for anything remotely good, so yes. Maybe the Angels sign Pujols/Fielder and we can send Marmol there for Morales. I'd like to know if morales can walk without the assistance of crutches before making that deal.
  24. Even if they did fire him (I doubt they will fire Neuheisel if they make a bowl), I'm sure UCLA will go for another crappy incestuous hire with UCLA ties. weren't you quite happy with them hiring neuheisel a few years ago? not trying to troll you or anything; i thought it was a good move at the time.
  25. that's all the signs said, right? nothing about canceling the season or alleging that everyone in the football program knew about the abuse? (a) surprised (b) you do raise a good point, we can't all be classy enough to repeatedly post "pedophile state university" on an internet message board.
