  1. while rich pitched like crap, it'd be really nice if the cubs would actually score some runs for him, so that every mistake he makes and every run he gives up isn't the end of the world. Their offensive support of him has been a complete joke since the first three weeks of the season.
  2. Hah, why am I not surprised that suddenly made an appearance? And that it's no big deal that Hill sucks. Again. Cause abuck is dusty to Rich Hill's Shawn Estes. Lol. and people wonder why abuck gloated last year when hill pitched so well in august and september... Christ I was just messing with him, he is obviously tipping his pitches. Hell even the opposing announcer was making a big deal out of it. hey make all the attacks you want, but make sure you show up and take your medicine when rich turns it around.

  4. Hah, why am I not surprised that suddenly made an appearance? And that it's no big deal that Hill sucks. Again. and it's no big surprise that hill's biggest critics are reveling in the poor start, and ridiculing those who think he's a good pitcher.
  5. Don't worry, Truffle will find a way. nope, made a bad pitch... wasn't hitting his spots the way he should today, especially late in counts when he needs to be forcing guys to swing at bad pitches.
  6. that was not what i had in mind
  7. actually, 4.32 ERA is above average and 1.17 WHIP is well above average for NL pitchers in the month of June, but I guess I can't dispute the May portion of your poorly-constructed argument. Wow you got me there. 4.32 is just dominating the league average of 4.19 (a) NL average ERA is 4.27 (b) NL average ERA in June was 4.55 Comparing Rich Hill's June ERA to the ERA of the league for the entire season seems to be a nice way of selectively choosing data to back up your point. btw, this game is over. At least we took two out of three.
  8. actually, a lot of people said Zambrano has been a good pitcher for years now, and was just going through a slump earlier in the year. And lo and behold, he's actually pitching well now! Who could've seen that coming?

  10. hey at least bowen hit a ball hard... be thankful for small miracles
  11. I know you're trying to defend Rich, but he's been pretty mediocre for some time now. true, 10th best WHIP among major league starters is just not getting it done
  12. this makes me laugh every time i see it A specific part or the length of it? mostly the fact that the cubs would probably have to take on a large amount of salary and completely gut their minor league system to acquire a #1 pitcher, a big bat and a solid catcher.
  13. i'm not sure why you guys are surprised... the cubs haven't given hill any run support since april. When he starts, the Cubs will hardly score at all. You should be expecting this by now, regardless of who the opposing pitcher is.
  14. Chico is not that bad of a pitcher. his 1.54 WHIP would argue otherwise
  15. Barrett has done nothing for the Padres since that trade. He has bascially done nothing all year. And same goes for Bowen, and hes never done anything at the Major league level, where as barret has. Bowen as a Cub- 2 for 20. 050/200/050. His OPS is 250. Hell Neifi had a higher OBP as Bowen had OPS. bowen isn't good, but he isn't this bad. and the argument could be that Barrett isn't as bad as he's performed with the Padres. and that argument would be true. We're judging guys on a sample size of less than 10 games, that's a pretty futile exercise.
  16. don't be so sure, wrong pitcher is on the mound for the cubs.

  18. How is Hill better than Henry. He's the best defensive catcher on the roster. I'd like to see Soto but until he does something in the MLs he isn't better in my mind. hill is the worst of that motley crew.
  19. if rich doesn't get a hit here, he has nobody to blame but himself for the zero runs the cubs will score today
