  4. colt brennan
  5. fortunately we have a larger payroll to cover up his mistakes... ed wade is bad, i can't believe he got another GM job
  6. Howard is better than Adam Dunn
  7. none of the teams in the NL are that great - see Arizona's run differential, SD's questionable offense, the Mutts' late-season collapse, the Phillies' rotation/bullpen. Not that the Cobs don't have holes too, but it's not unreasonable to pick them to win the NL - except for history being completely against that sort of thing happening.

  9. i read the title and thought it was a joke. This doesn't top "Jets hire Rich Kotite as head coach" - people were literally incredulous in Philly - but I guarantee you the sports talk stations are having a good laugh at the Astros right now.
  10. That's what I don't get. It seems like he's throwing FB down the middle of the plate and batters just miss it. He doesn't throw it down the middle often though. He's good at hitting the corners, and he usually just throws lots of pitches on the outside corner at the knees. truth. His ability to the locate the fastball is excellent. But yeah, it puzzles me that major league hitters struggle so much against a fastball that's pretty much always the same speed (94 mph) and is pretty straight. I guess the fact that he's tall and lanky makes the speed of the pitch deceptive, and maybe he hides it well through his delivery. I'm glad I stuck up for Bob when he was struggling earlier this year. He's a reliable reliever and once his luck on balls in play evened out, he turned into the pitcher he was all of last year.
  11. CRAIG MONROE IS AWFUL WHY DID WE TRADE FOR HIM
  12. soto hits a lot of balls hard. jason kendall doesn't.
  13. look at houston's whole series, it's pretty clear they're not putting forth their best
  14. hell of an effort... they show jim hendry, appropriate given that lilly was one of his few good signings
  15. lawl i'm assuming that won't be a concern in about 10 days
  16. Yeah. He'll throw 2 perfect innings on about 20 pitches. Nah, 10 he'll give up 2 singles but then get 2 double play balls
  17. yeah i'm pretty pissed about that; ump called that garbage for shearn at least 3-4 times tonight. Hopefully it won't matter.
  18. would be nice if the reds ground balls would end up in double plays
  19. huh that's funny, that same pitch was a strike to cliff floyd
  20. cubs were 7th in GIDP last month and are now up to 3rd this month. They're 18th overall but yeah the DP balls have been killing us the past month and a half.
