I just don't understand Dusty's move of letting Maddux hit for himself with Oswalt in trouble and runners on 2nd & 3rd in the 6th inning. It was obvious that Maddux didn't have his best stuff and he was in a position to get the win. Instead, Maddux makes the third out, Maddux loses the lead in the 6th inning, Oswalt gets his 20th win, and the Astros win the WC.

Dude, I have to save my pen for the playoff push.. You know man, I didn't want to over work them, and the bench is pretty tired from a long season.

This is when I turned the game on was when Maddux was coming up with 2 outs and with a one run lead in the top of the 5th.. I thought to myself. Its the last game of the year, you could use everyone in the pen to get this win, I guess Dusty didn't want to over work the pen?

Two numbers tell you everything you need to know about this team.

154

112

Those are the number of games Perez and Macias played in. Only Burnitz and Lee played in more games than Perez. Macias played in more games than Walker.

Matt Murton only appeared in 50 games despite being called up before the all-star break. Todd Hollandsworth played in more games as a Cub than Murton did.

I hate you Dusty. I really, really do. I've never wanted a Cubs season to end as much as I wanted this one to finish. You've single-handedly sucked any enjoyment out of watching the team I've followed since I was a child.

I was actually hoping you'd blow this series because you don't deserve to claim a "winning" season this year. You're a buffoon and a disgrace to the uniform. And that's saying something considering the collection of clowns this team has employed over the years. You make Don Baylor look like Casey Stengel.

Now we get to sit and listen to Joe Buck and Thom Brenneman drool over the White Sox and Cardinals for the next month.

Thank you Dusty, thank you very much. Take your bong and go back to San Francisco.

Good post, would you mind if I showed this to someone and quoted you?
