Sam Fuld was also interviewed on Friday's Peoria Chiefs pre-game show broadcast. You can download the mp3 file here (the link is good for a limited number of downloads; if it doesn't work, PM me and I'll repost it). The interview is a little over 3 minutes long.

 

In the radio interview, he talks about his approach to leading off, batting in front of Eric Patterson and Ryan Harvey, and the Chiefs stretch run for a second-half playoff spot.

Special thanks to Matt Weber for taking our questions and to Nathan Baliva for coordinating this session. On August 27, the Cubs promoted Matt from the Peoria Chiefs to the Daytona Cubs. Both Matt and Nathan took the time after the August 27 game to get the Q&A done before Matt left to pack for his trip to Florida -- and we very much appreciate their efforts!

Brandon Sing, 1B-OF for the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx (AA), just completed a record-setting season, and he and Diamond Jaxx are preparing for the Southern League Championship series to be played next week. Brandon tied for the most home runs (26) in the Southern League and set the following Diamond Jaxx franchise records:

 

Walks: Brandon Sing, 91 (Previous record: 82, Bo Porter, 1998).

Home runs: Brandon Sing, 26 (Previous record: 25, Chris Haas, 2001)

SLG: Brandon Sing, .538 (Previous record: .532, Richard Lewis, 2004)

OBP: Brandon Sing, .404 (Previous record: .399, Bo Porter, 1998)
