I don't mean to appear unsympathetic but how could Greenberg be ranked #2 among Cubs Minor League OF? Unless they did the list alphabetically Pie, Harvey and Murton should have been ahead of him and probably Bacon too.

 

Interesting to see that Fleita made it sound like he'd definitely be back with the Cubs.

While scheduled to come off the disabled list Monday, Greenberg is still haunted by memories of the wild throw that rattled his helmet...

 

I am very happy that he is recovering nicely. However, I noticed that this article is dated 7/24 for an incident that occurred on 7/9. if I were Greenberg I would stop talking about this issue. Whether or not he actually said he is "haunted by the memories" or it was added for dramatic effect, he should consider keeping his feeling about the matter to himself. The Cubs may view some of what has been reported as a negative.

 

No doubt other teams will pitch him up and in to intimidate and push him off the plate. I hope he has the opportunity to get back in the batter's box soon so that this issue can be put behind him.

I can't believe he'd have said that - my take was it was added in a case of bad journalism. I bet Greenburg is totally fine - just part of the game.

I don't know where that statement came from. He wasn't ranke among this year's top 30 prospects by BA.

Perhaps Fleita was referring to a September callup. He didn't say Greenberg would be back with the Cubs immediately.
