Is there a trade (a reasonable trade) that you have enough faith in to think it will turn the fortunes of the Cubs around?

I can't think of one, but I'm not very good at this kind of thing.

I can't think of one.

If the Cubs want to get serious about making an impact deal, they have to look at pitching for hitting. If that is the case, you have to consider Z or Prior to move to somewhere like Texas for a package including Teixeira. Or, get really crazy and ship Z to the Yankees with ARam, Remmy and Holla for ARod, Matsui and Gordon (just thinking outside the box). However, that doesn't really fit your criteria of reasonableness (though I tried to be fair to both sides).

I kind of think addition by subtraction is quite beneficial as well-The most frustrating thing about this year so far-besides the injuries-is how poorly this team has been run internally- I mean its the 4th of July and our manager just realized that a 1-2 combo of Cpatt and Neifi isn't very good and that hairston-walker with higher OBP ALL year would make for a better combo in front of the two all-stars-

Macias is constantly brought in in big PH situations-In game strategy-lets not even talk about

I guess if some things were done internally as subtraction then our team would be better not only now but later-for example:

1. Hairston should play EVERY DAY and leadoff-whether it be in CF, LF, 2B-he should be there everyday-regardless of the [expletive] Lefty/Righty BS-If Hairston shows he can handle CF then deal Corey-lets get an impact bat to play left- Or we could just move Hairston to LF and get Kotsay-we don't need thumpers we need OBP gamers who can generate havoc in front of LEE and ARAM.

2. Walker should play EVERY DAY-obviously this eliminates 2B for Hairston leaving only CF and LF- Now I realize we have had this lineup for 2 days and we lost but does anyone really believe we would be 1 game under 500 if they had started this lineup all year?...

3. Cedeno should play EVERY DAY-lets see what we have, I'm sure he could match Neifi's .298 OBP lately pretty easily-plus we don't fall off defensively-Go to him and say-"SS is yours now-prove you can handle it, if you do its yours next year from moment one-" let's see what we have in this kid.

4. Release Macias-call up Grieve.Move Neifi to the bench-this strengthens our bench with PH duties falling to Holly-Grieve-Perez-Dubois-not bad.

5. QUITE MICRO-MANAGING EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF THE GAME-This one I guess is for Dusty but the incessant use of the Lefty/right matchup is killing me-the constant changing of the lineup, and misuse of the pen- The other night listiening to the ESPN crew they talked about how "inconsistent" the Cubs have been-well how can you be consistent when 5 of your players don't know where of if they are even going to play because you switch lineups like you switch toothpicks-There is NO rythm of groove for any of these guys-thats why the Kyle Davies of the world can pitch us under a bus-

Those are just a few of the things we could do to make us better-Trades and things like that are out of our control, but these moves are moves that are in Dusty/Hendry's control and they should be made-regardless.

I we could somehow get Kotsay and Dunn without giving up one of the following starters Prior, Wood, or Zambrano. Then it might help. Personally I think we need both of those guys Kotsay and Dunn. Even then it may not make a difference because ultimately the Cubs choke in the end. Sorry to say it but they do. Or someone like Lee would get injured. You know the drill.
