The coaching changes keep on coming for the Cubs, who Thursday named Chili Davis the team’s new hitting coach, Brian Butterfield its new third-base coach and Andy Haines assistant hitting coach.

Davis replaces John Mallee, who spent three seasons as the team’s hitting coach. Butterfield will take the place of Gary Jones, who had been in his position for the last four. Haines will fill the spot left by Eric Hinske, who became hitting coach for the Angels.

The team said the rest of Joe Maddon’s coaching staff will be announced later.

The Cubs have not named a pitching coach since choosing not to exercise Chris Bosio’s 2018 option.

Davis has spent six seasons as a hitting coach, most recently with the Red Sox from 2015-17. He won three World Series in 19 seasons as a player.
