Cubs scout Stan Zielinski passed away.

I was lucky to learn under him and the older area scouts (Cann, Couston, Hale, Otto). I've known him for ever 10 years.

 

I've never met a scout with as many players in the majors as him. He loved this game.

 

My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

 

The Cubs just lost a valuable piece and the best scout I've known. Even though we butted heads, I'll miss him.

I never seen as many articles about a baseball guy who I'd never heard of dying, he must have been pretty legit.

He was an incredible scout. One of the few to survive from the Hendry regime.
