Can I draft a minor leaguer in the major league draft who has been in the minors prior to 2011?

If so, can I immediately place him on my minor league roster if he is eligible?

I don't think so - unless the rule was changed

we should probably make this similar to the IFA rule - if you draft a minor leaguer who hasn't appeared in the majors (or just appeared for a pointless call up in september) then you have to keep him on your major league roster for the whole year.

otherwise, i'll be blowing all my late picks on minor leaguers and the prospect draft will be nothing but 2011 rule 4 draftees getting selected.

I don't think they should be eligible for the major league draft unless we just want to ditch the prospect draft altogether. Which it's kinda late to do 1/2 way through the ML draft.

I agree...any players drafted in the ML draft should be part of the team's ML roster at the start of the year. I think this is the reason why we have the prospects draft.

We kind of did that last year after two rounds since it took so long for people to make picks.

The first two rounds matter >>>> everything after.

Yea, I would limit the prospect draft to two rounds again

I'm fine with making the draft as many rounds as people want and letting people pass if they no longer want to draft. It makes more sense than a free for all to me.

We can just say that noone not in the majors can be signed until after the prospect draft completes.
