It's a pretty nice value proposition. Broxton is a good gamble to be worth 1 win, and he allows them flexibility in how they handle Soria(Rosenthal mentioned him going to the rotation, there was a rumor linking the Royals to Rasmus and Toronto wants a closer, etc). For as much criticism as he got early, Moore has done a very nice job of building that farm system, and adding a couple decent pieces from the market. They would be a very nice match for someone like Gio Gonzalez, and with someone of that quality in tow, they might be a little luck in developing young guys away from competing as early as next year.

Well said, I couldn't agree more. I could easily see them going after Rasmus and using Broxton as part of that deal.

Well said, I couldn't agree more. I could easily see them going after Rasmus and using Broxton as part of that deal.

 

I was confused with what TT wrote, but I think he is talking about Soria being the one traded.

That's correct, they can't trade Broxton until June.
