According to Kendall Rogers of Yahoo! Sports, unsigned No. 6 overall pick Barret Loux will begin accepting official offers from major league clubs Friday.

Rogers writes that several teams are expected to make an offer. Loux, who was selected by the Diamondbacks in June, was left unsigned after failing a physical. The Brewers, Astros, Marlins, Cubs, Rangers, Twins, Giants, Phillies and Mariners sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old right-hander throw last month.

Has anything been said about why he failed his physical?
Their medical staff’s customary MRI on Loux’s arm turned up two red flags. The first: Loux has a tear in his labrum, a shoulder injury that has ended careers. The second: Loux’s elbow, which had bone chips taken out in 2009, showed signs of eventually needing Tommy John surgery.
