Cashner gives up a single in each of the first two innings and wipes both of them out promptly with double plays. 1 K and 5 groundouts so far.

So far Castro 0-5 with a walk in the double heaer. Win the 1st game 3-4. Cashner went the distance giving up 4 ER with 3/4 BB/K. Despite the win and current 6-0 lead in game 2, the 2 guys that really count have been less than steller today. Carpener has given up 3 hit with 1 BB and 3 Ks through 2.

Jay Jackson went 5 IP giving up 2 ER. Shark eventually came in and gave up a bunch of runs, picking up where he left off.

Yeah, really nothing to hang your hat on from a big day. Bummer.

Yeah, really nothing to hang your hat on from a big day. Bummer.

I'm actually really happy to see Cashner go 7 innings and throw nearly 100 pitches. Considering he struck out two batters in his last inning, it seems like he was able to keep his stuff at that late stage of the game. His performance wasn't spectacular, but it was a positive sign.

He was hitting 96 in the 6th inning of his previous start too.
