Being 2 days away from the trade deadline in my dynasty league, I'm trying to improve my already outstanding team. I'm leading the 16 team league at 8-2. I'm trying to score MJD from a team that is in dead last. How strong is this offer? Remember, this is an IDP league, and you get kick return points, punt return points, etc.

I give up:

Michael Turner

Percy Harvin

Jerrius Byrd

Next years 4th rounder in the rookie draft

I get:

MJD

Jerricho Cotchery

He drastically needs defensive backs (Byrd). Turner gives him a formidable RB (he doesn't want to win this year any more as he wants the first pick in next year's draft). Harvin steps in at WR for him and gives him someone who is scoring a lot of points on KR and PR.

What are your thoughts of this offer?

To be fair, I don't have experience with 16 team dynasty leagues. But that sounds like a lot to give up to upgrade from Turner to MJD (if you consider it an upgrade, they have similar stats). If you get KR/PR yards and it's a long term keeper, Harvin is a pretty valuable WR. I think he would probably take it, if that's what you want.

I would not say that MJD and Turner are close to being worth the same, but I think it is a fair offer. The catch is that you are asking for Cotchery as well. MJD is a rolling ball that just scores TD's and is one of the most valuable players in fantasy football this year. Turner is a very good back, but in a catagory below MJD, Peterson, and just a few other top fantasy players.

Harvin is hyped up this year and as a kick returner does add a lot of value, but Cotchery washes him out plus a little bit as a simply a WR.

Byrd is a throw in because if he can't upgrade next year in the draft there is something wrong with him. The pick is valuable and is a reason I almost see the trade being a wash for both, or fair for both.

MJD

169 Carries 860 Yards 5.1 YPC 12 TDs

32 Catches 220 Yards

Turner

165 Carries 831 yards 5.0 YPC 10 TDs

5 Catches 35 Yards

If it's a PPR league, MJD has the advantage. If it's not, they're a wash. Granted Turner is now injured and isn't going to play this weekend, however it's a long term keeper league.

In my ESPN league, MJD has outscored Turner by 31. So that's what? 3 per game?

Cotchery

32 catches 498 yards 2 TD

Harvin

31 catches 421 yards 3 TD

889 Return Yards 2 Return TDs (5 total TDs)

Cotchery has 64 fantasy points, Harvin has 72 (I'm not sure how his return scoring works but that's without the return yardage).

I'm not sure how his defensive scoring works, but Jairus Byrd is leading the entire NFL in interceptions.
