Both dropped in my league. Should I grab either? I've got Carlos Pena at DH so I would be grabbing Ortiz for later trade bait if he turns it around. Also, I would be dropping Manny Parra to grab Loshe.

Would you need to drop someone for Ortiz? I honestly don't think he'll turn it around to where he's cranking out 40 HR seasons again. Maybe 20-25 tops, but if you're replacing someone you're not playing with him there can't be much harm in it.

If it's Parra for Lohse, I don't know. Both are kind of a mixed bag who can give you a great start or a terrible start. Lohse has better numbers right now, but he's more like a lesser of two evils.

My league is sort of an oddity. It's a h2h points league (10 team) and we go deep for pitching with a bigger emphasis on starting pitchers. Most guys have 0-3 hitters on their bench and most have 4-6 pitchers on the bench. Two start pitchers seemingly are the key to victory (guys only start premier closers), but there is a transaction cap (30) to prevent the constant grabbing of just two start pitchers. I currently have zero position players on the bench.

My hitting lineup is:

C: Brian McCann

1B: Prince Fielder

2B: Chase Utley

3B: A-Rod

SS: JJ Hardy

OF: Carlos Quentin

OF: Jermaine Dye

OF: Adam Dunn

UTIL: Carlos Pena

I've got the following pitching staff.

Starting (this week):

Johan Santana

Yovani Gallardo

Jonathan Papelbon

Aaron Harang

Sean Marshall

Jair Jurjens

Chris Volstad

Bench:

Dave Bush

Tim Wakefield

Manny Parra

Chien-Ming Wang (Just off DL)

Hiroki Kuroda (Injured)

Kelvim Escobar (Injured)

John Smoltz (Injured)

So to grab either Ortiz or Lohse I would probably drop Parra.

The following starting pitchers are the best available:

Kyle Lohse

Andy Sonnanstine

Kyle Davies

Dallas Braden

Doug Davis

John Lannan

Livan Hernandez

Kenshin Kawakami

Lohse and Sonnanstine are the only pitchers owned in 50% or more of ESPN leagues. Of course I've got guys (who I think are underrated) that are owned in only a smaller percentage of leagues too (Bush, Marshall, Parra).

Pretty much your mixed bag of guys that either get no run support for wins or have good starts and terrible starts. I've also stocked up on injured players hoping to stay competitive until the bargain injured players got healthy later in the season. I'm alone in first at this point. I'd like to win because it's $500 for first!

that's a good looking team. if you need to drop Parra for either of them I'd get Ortiz. Obviously pitching is the strong suit in that league, but you've already got a nice staff. Having Ortiz on the bench can't hurt as much, plus in the chance he turns it around he'd make for good trade bait.

I don't know, your pitching staff already looks stacked. I'd say go for Ortiz. Can't hurt any
