Carrie Muskat[/url]"]Bobby Scales was taking grounders at shortstop Monday at Wrigley Field with Mike Fontenot, Aaron Miles and Ryan Theriot. The Cubs have yet to officially announce whether they will put Carlos Zambrano on the DL, but one option may be to do so, and call up an extra infielder now -- Scales, for example -- and then call up a pitcher on Friday when Zambrano was scheduled to make a start.

Do we not have a third base option in the entire bloody organization between Ramirez and Vitters?

give it a rest on the Hendry Hate. We are talking about a guy who has paid his dues in the Minors and deserves at least cup of coffee at this point over a veteran nomad like a Graffino or something.

Nah, Z will sit on the bench for 10 days, come into a game and throw an inning, thus nullifying his retroactivity, and then sit on the bench for another two weeks before his next start.
