i think he already is a pitching coach; every time the cubs, padres or dodgers starters did something good or made progress they attributed it to maddux.

Have there been many great players that became great coaches?Maddux can talk startegy but does he know how fix mechanics?

 

The Maddux effect probably helps guys that have the ability to locate pitches but not power pitchers.
