Ben Sheets gets shelled by White Sox

Brewers opening day starter Ben Sheets, who will face the Cubs on Monday, was mauled by the White Sox in five innings of work, allowing nine runs on eight hits with one strikeout and four home runs, two of those to Jim Thome and one a grand slam to Alexei Ramirez.

Opening Day can't come soon enough!

...and? Z gave up 4 runs in 4 IP today. Jake Peavy allowed 4 runs in 3 IP. And yet you figure all 3 guys will be there chomping at the bit come Monday. That's the funny thing about spring training, is that as soon as we hit 1:20 PM on Opening Day, it all gets erased and forgotten.

Sheets got shelled before the opener last year as well and he pitched a complete game 2-hitter against the Dodgers.

 

Both Zambrano and Sheets will be ready to go when the bell rings on Opening Day.
