LHP James Russell (2007 14th rounder) from Mesa to Peoria, Jose Pina back to Peoria's DL after a bad simulated game.

 

Actually he was reinjured in a bullpen session while warming up to come into Wednesday's game.

 

I look forward to seeing Russell tonight. We need someone to step up in the rotation with Pina and Renshaw now both done for the year (Renshaw got a full clean bill of health but they dont want to risk anything by having him throw again)

Heh, when he signed, the Cubs apparently told him he'd head to Daytona to finish the season. I was surprised to hear that, Peoria obviously makes more sense.

 

Good to hear Renshaw is ok health-wise.
