So is Theriot, he was just used at second because he plays there and because Izzy wan't going anywhere. Theriot is a natural SS. Please know what you're talking about.

Before insulting people you should probably heed your own advice first.

Theriot is not a natural SS.

A natural shortstop, Theriot has also played backup third base, second base, and right field for the Cubs.

This is what it says at your link.

A natural at second base, Theriot has also played backup third base, short, and right field for the Cubs.

Haha, I'm not getting into this debate, but check the edit history on that wiki page. Someone just changed it to say "a natural at second base".

You should probably read the links before you post them. That says he's a natural at 2b.

Oh, it was definately me. I was just proving that using wikipedia as a source is about as rookie a mistake as there is.

Haha, that's why I hate wikipedia. Anyone can change anything at any time.

Wikipedia. Seriously.

Ok, only half condescendingly, there are these things called stats. They are the numerical record of what has happened on a baseball field. Particularly important to this discussion is noting where a person has played in his professional career. For instance, we can assume that because Matt Murton has played LF a lot that it would be safe to assume that this is his 'natural' position, as long as we are pretending that there is a vastly different skill set required for LF and RF, respectively. However, to call Theriot a 'natural' shortstop even though he's received the vast bulk of his professional playing time at places other than that position is, well, uninformed.

I must admit, that was really funny.

Rob beat me to the punch. I was just going to change it too, but it had already been changed. Just shows that you shouldn't use Wiki as your proof of anything.

I had a feeling someone was about to change it. That's why I checked the edit history, and it was already done. You guys work fast.

Can we skip ahead to where somebody suddenly declares that his arguments were all a "joke?"

Or just disappears completely.

Neither will happen i'm not wrong.

That was an awesome punchline before.

It will be again.

Alright, give us some sort of numbers that prove that you are right then. Why are you ignoring the fact that Theriot has played more games at 2b than SS in his minor and major league career? Wouldn't that make him a natural 2b?

Yes you are.

Being stubborn isn't the same as being right.

The difference for Theriot between Second and Short is a minimal difference (17 i think) shifting in favor of second for his MilB career. He played Short in college and is consistantly reffered to by knowledgable people as a natural SS.

Send an e-mail to Len and Bob or one to Muskat and you'll get the truth.

Muskat?

You only have as much credibility as your sources... using wikipedia, Muskat, and the infamous "knowledgable people" isn't really helping you make your point.

What credibility you thought you still had just went out the window. A natural SS would have an average arm for the position. Theriot's is well below-average. And obviously there are other knowledgable people who disagree with you considering Theriot has spent more time playing 2b.

First wikipedia, now Muskat? Seriously.....maybe I'll ask Joe Morgan or John Kruk.
