Chris, how soon we forget.. yes I did bet my hair in the 2nd half of the 2005 season with the Jaxx down five games with 25 left to play. Theriot, Casey Mcgehee and the boys went on a roll and I lost my hair..

Raisin, after some serious thought.. I have decided not to do it for two reasons.. My wife would disown me is the best reason but the other reason is the fact that I don't like sequel's (except for Godfather II and maybe Star Wars). It's no secret that the 2005 season was by far the funnest year I have ever had in broadcasting. I'll think of something else to do.. maybe I just storm into the clubhouse and go Lou Piniella on them.. lol

I remember the scalping incident, but I thought there was another incident before that with a different team. Wasn't it a situation where you bet that if a team came back in a game you'd do something and they nearly pulled it off?

Anybody know if EPatt has been playing LF much? I see he's out there tonight.

in a more serious attempt to answer the question, I'm going to guess that it's because Cedeno has joined the team, and he's the best-fielding SS, so Fontenot has been shifted to 2B and Patterson to LF. I'd prefer to see Fontenot into the OF so Patterson can continue to work on his defense, but whatever. They're the ones that haven't won a World Series for 100 years, so I'll trust they know what they're doing.

Well, it was bound to happen with EPatt struggling at 2B defensively.

He was struggling some, but I certainly haven't seen anything that would suggest that he's been so bad for so long that it's reached the point that the Cubs have to give up on him at second base. He was bad in the AFL, but outside of that I don't think he was worse than average. And, as has already been mentioned, his bat really doesn't look as nice at a corner outfield spot.

Oh, I'm really hoping he can stick at 2B but from what I've read from a few folks who went to Iowa games (along with AZ Phil's reports at the AFL), he's been struggling. I still hope they stick him at 2B for the rest of this season and if they must move him, do it in the offseason.

Id like to see MF at SS and Cedeno at 2b. Cedeno is in AAA to work on his bat, he still gets that by playing 2b. Fontenot needs work at SS for a utility role, his bat and glove at 2b isnt the concern. Epatt should be at 2b and not Cedeno, but thats asking too much probably.

Right, but AZ Phil's reports cover the time that he was really playing poorly at 2B, and most people agreed that he's not played well at 2B this year either. Still, that's just two months. You're right, they should let him work out his problems at 2B and have someone work with him if necessary... moving to the OF now just seems like a silly knee-jerk reaction (which is becoming common in this organization).

Chris, you must be thinking about the time in 1999 when I said on the air as the Abilene Prairie Dogs built an eleven run lead "If they blow this game, I will walk back to Abilene." I believe we were playing a team 7 or eight hours away by bus.

They scored nine unanswered runs but Abilene held on for the win. I would have probably died of heat exhaustion during the walk back had they lost.. lol
