Baseball-reference teams with retrosheet

This may be old news, but I noticed that http://www.baseball-reference.com now has a lineup and batting order link. You can see lineups and batting orders for every team of every year. . . links to retro sheet. . . . etc.

 

The cool thing is at the bottom of the batting order page, it gives you a list of "most common" lineups and a number of total lineups.

 

Guess how many different lineups the Cubs had in 2005?

I'm not sure you noticed but you can also get a boxscore for every game.

Yep, that's be beauty of retrosheet (boxscores) and now it's all right at your fingertips.

While 121 may seem like alot, try looking at the other teams. So far (half way through), all have atleast 110, some into the high 130's.

Even with Eck leading off 154 games, and Pujols hittind 3rd 154 games, the Cards still had 138.

Yeah, I talked to a Cardinal fan friend of mine and told him about the "121." He laughed and said "I have no way of knowing the number, but I promise Tony has more."
