Peoria came back to defeat Burlington, 12-9. Peoria used two 6-run innings, one in the 1st and one in the 8th, to defeat Burlington. Yepez went only 3 innings, as he allowed 6 hits, 7 runs, 6 ER's, 3 walks, and stuck out 2. Estrada pitched the 4th, allowing 3 hits, 2 ER's, 1 walk, and struck out 1. Evenson got his first win of the season as he pitched 4 innings, allowing just 2 hits, no runs, 1 walk, and struck out 4. Avery picked up his 15th save as he pitched a scoreless 9th, only allowing 1 hit.

 

Ryne Malone had a good night as he went 2/4 with a double, a homer, 2 RBI's, a walk, and 2 runs scored. Davy Gregg went 3/5 with 2 runs scored. Valdez and Carter each went 2/5 with 2 RBI's apiece. Blake Lalli went 3/5 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Garcia was 2/4 with 2 RBI's and a walk. Kyle Reynolds was 1/4 with a homer, 2 RBI's, 1 walk, and 2 runs scored. Norwood was 1/5 with an RBI and Chirnos was 1/3 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base.

 

Boise up 5-3 in the 7th. Billek's final line: 5.0 IP, 1 hit, 0 ER's, 1 BB, and 3 K's. Francisco allowed 3 runs in the 6th on 4 hits.

 

Mesa is up 3-0 in the 7th.

Boise beat Spokane 6-5. Francisco pitched another inning and a third and wound up allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, 3 ER, walked none, and struck out 2. Michael Cooper got his first win of the season as he went 1 and 2/3's allowing 3 hits, 1 ER, walked one, and struck out 1. Matulia went 4/4 with an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base. Clevenger went 2/4 with a homer, an RBI, and a run scored. Lansford, Lewis, and Puello went 1/4 with Lansford adding 2 RBI's. Canzler went 1/4 with a solo homer. Canepa was 1/2 with a double, an RBI, a walk, and a run scored. Colvin went 0/4 with a K tonight.

 

Mesa held on to win, barely, 6-5. Huseby's final line was what kctigers23 posted. Downs got the win as he pitched 2 innings of relief, allowing just 1 hit and struck out 1. Carrillo pitched 2 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 ER, walked two and struck out 2. Bernard pitched 1 inning, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, only 1 of which was earned. Matthew Maradeo picked up the save as he pitched the 9th, allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, and struck out 1. Rundle went 2/5 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Tirado went 2/4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Andersen went 1/4 with a triple, an RBI, a walk, and a run scored. Heredia was 1/4 with a walk, a run, and his 21st stolen base of the season.

Huseby's WHIP is now sitting nicely at 1.00 (albeit only in 5 innings of work), but his 1-5 GO-FO ratio could use some work still though.

Interesting night! Colvin lost two home runs, the game had a 30 minute delay because of a dust storm and almost 70 mph winds. Also Lalli 5th yr senior at Peoria had 3 hits and Price an outfielder signed after the 06 draft from the University of Iowa had 4 hits for Daytona!

Wow, I could only imagine trying to track a fly ball in those type of winds. I've had dust devils pop up when we played on dirt fields that made tracking a fly ball darn near impossible.

Jacksonville, FL (August 10th)- The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx have made a roster move prior to tonight's Southern League game against the Jacksonville Suns. The Diamond Jaxx have added RHP Adalberto Mendez from Triple-A Iowa. The move brings the Diamond Jaxx roster to the league maximum of 24 players.
