WASHINGTON -- Scott Williamson knew he was going to be traded, and on Saturday, the Cubs made a deal.

The Cubs dealt the right-handed reliever to the Padres for Minor League pitchers Fabian Jimenez Angulo, 19, and Joel Santo, 22. Both were pitching at Class A Fort Wayne.

"We're happy with the two young pitchers we got," Cubs general manager Jim Hendry said Saturday. "We liked them last year. They have good arms and they project well. Williamson may be able to help the Padres in a different role."
