Mike Remlinger the LOOGY.

Bobby Cox is often times credited as one of if not the best manager in baseball, and even he is still using Rem as a LOOGY. We saw it against the Cubs, and I just put on the Braves/Red Sox game to see Rem Coming in to face Ortiz and Nixon. Ortiz promptly hit it out of the park. When are big league managers going to see what seems pretty easy to figure out... even Lou Pinnela said "Remlinger actually has gotten righties out better than lefties this year."

I wonder if it's a case of over thinking? You put Remmy in against a lefty and hope that the other manager will put a righty to hit against him.

I was driving in the car with a Red Sox fan listening to the game on XM and told him that Remlinger is a closet ROOGY - just as Papi smashed one.

I saw the replay last night and that was just a good play by Ortiz. The ball was up and in but he was able to keep his hands in and he kept his front side closed...not much you can do about that.

But still, Remlinger has always done better against righties than lefties.

Yes, but I think this is one of the places that you really can't fault Remmy. Maybe they should've brought in McBride instead of Remmy, but Remmy made the pitch but it got hit...not much you can do about it
