Forgive me for not having a link but I was reading the register today about the Icubs offense. Mike Quade credited his teams offence to have a patient aproach at the plate and letting his players use thier strenghs and not messing with thier swings.

Forgive me for not having a link or an exact quote, but I like his style much better than the guys running the big club.

The Cubs' Triple-A affiliate in Iowa, like the Cubs, is last in the 16-team Pacific Coast League in runs scored.

wow, I got to use that quote twice!

I beleive he was refering to last night when his team actually scored runs and commenting on what they did right.

I know - I had literally just finished reading that article though. Another example of poor journalism - apparently the cubs and the ICubs are last in the PCL in runs scored.

Yes the Icusb are terrible at scoring runs this year, this is not what I am saying. It is pretty easy to see they do not score enough runs. Quade was commenting on what his team did well during that game. He pointed out that they were secussful tongiht in part becasue they were more patient at the plate. I just thought it was good to hear a manager praise his team for being patient

from the article

"I'm convinced with this whole group that patience is huge and if these guys are going to succeed here and get better and move onto the next level and succeed there, patience is going to be the most important thing," he said.

Their swings are their swings, but if we get pitches to hit and do a better job discipline-wise, then we've got some guys who will have bright futures.

And with this comment, Mike Quade will soon be looking for employment outside of the Chicago Cubs organization.

A promotion to the big club is the worst thing that could happen to a Cubs prospect these days. Better to be traded away and miss out on Dusty's "teachings."
