There was this guy on WGN's sport central and he said he got a tape of Woods outing against lansing. He said that whatever they did with his mechanics worked wonders. he said that his ball is moving more than anything wood has thrown in the past including the 20k game in 1998. He said they took tapes from the 98 season to tried to get his throwing motion back to that.

"This guy" was Will Carroll.

Oh. Well never mind then.

You guys do realize Wood has never won more than 14 games in a year, right?

Not to be a wet blanket, as this has been a relatively positive thread, but is that necessarily a good thing? While it's true the movement he had in 1998 was the best we've ever seen it, but watching him throw curveballs that year you knew a Tommy John was only a matter of time.

:D

This makes me happy. I LOVE Kerry Wood! I hope he comes back...has an amazing summer....and remains a Cubby for the rest of his career.

I know I might be in the minority in wanting this. But I can't help it.

I DOUBT you are in the minority (except for using the term Cubby/Cubbies). I think most people want Kerry to be a Cub for life, because that means he's pitching to his potential which is elite-type stuff.

Isn't this about the 4th time Wood has changed his mechanics?

I think only once - last year.

You really don't like Wood do you?

Quite the contrary. He's one of my favorite Cubs. I'm just sick of him starting every year on the DL. I also want him to be a Cub for life.
