Minor deal?

There are rumors that Craig Wilson and Luis Matos are both going to be riding the bench for their respective teams. Since Welly has no spot in the bullpen and is out of options, maybe we could get one of them for Welly. Wilson, as a RF platoon/PH, is the more desirable of the two. I remember there was a thread on Wilson a while ago, but I think that was before he lost his job(s) to Burnitz and Casey.

I've been advocating picking up Wilson as a bat off the bench/LF option for quite a while now. He's a solid bat with some patience and power.

 

Plus, when Wood is starting, we can throw him in Woody's uniform when the Cubs are at bat and have him pinch hit for him without having to take Kerry out... :lol:

 

Then again, Kerry's a pretty good bat himself.

 

But, kidding aside, I'd definitely like for the Cubs to pick him up.

I agree with both. Wilson and Matos are better back up OF's for us then Marquis Grissom. Please if we can get both of them or at least one

A Jock and Wilson platoon could very easily produce an 800+ OPS.

 

I think the Pirates could do a little better than Welly, though.
