Elarton would be nice, but I thought Cleveland resigned him?

Not yet. Word is he wants two years and the Indians only want to give one.

oo...I misunderstood the article....I suppose he is a very viable (until things change) option for me....

I don't really want Elarton unless we trade Jerome Williams.

I don't think Elarton is enough better than Rusch (if at all) to warrant signing him if it's not to replace Williams.

If Guzman is not going to appear in the majors at all this season, trade him.

He'll be out of options spring 2007. It'll be too much to ask for him to stick for good at that time if that's his first exposure to the majors ever.

I tend to think if he doenst make it to Chicago this year, it wont matter what his options are in 2007, no one will take him. you have to think if he is healthy at all this season, he gets a call up-even just for the bullpen

I disagree minnesotacubsfan. By spring of 2007 Guzman will be ALL of 25 yrs old. If he doesn't stick with the Cubs---which I believe he will---some team is going to take the gamble on Guzman.

Seriously, why Elarton? He's been horrible over the years.

25 years old with health concerns, and if he pitches poorly, major concerns about how those health issues are affecting his stuff...

If he pitches well, theres no way he doenst get a call-up to chicago and/or protection

I feel its time for Guz to put up or get out.....and I dont mean to sound like a jerk about it, but the time really has come...

You have pretty high expectations. I guess that's to be expected. You do post here. :?

The last two years in Cleveland he's been decent (NL-equivalent ERA just above 4).

Maybe I do have high expectations. I fully expect Rusch to be better than Elarton. I'd almost expect Koronka to be better, and I think he's a waste of a 40 man spot.

I'm not very interested in Vazquez, but his would be a much less substantial commitment - $18/2.

$18/2 + Guzman + Pie + Sing

I exaggerate, but Hendry has been giving up the mint for guys this fall...I worry what AZ would walk away with from us.......I would rather it was just $$$$

Is Sing back in the Cubs system? They left him unprotected.

No team wanted him. We are overvaluing the guy.
