  1. Forgot about him. Maybe there's a reason why Martz finally got contacted by the Bears. Looks like Martz as Bears OC is coming to a reality.
  2. So apparently there's a chance Bates will go with Carroll to the Seahwaks as the OC. I have a feeling the Bears will end up with a scrub option as OC. Weis is already taken if Bates go with Carroll who is left?
  3. I'd take the risk on Bates. 2nd option would be Weis. I'm scared of Martz. He hasn't been a good coordinator in a long time.
  4. I would be shocked if we find out tomorrow at 2PM that Lovie and co have been fired.
  5. Why is it taking them so long to come to a decision?
  6. You know what for 3/15 for Byrd, I can't really complain about that.
  7. I'm still shocked he gave a 30 year Soriano an 8 year deal.
  8. How were the Braves unimpressed? His September/October numbers this year were ridiculous... 2.28ERA 0.92WHIP 43IP 2CG 46:9 K:BB Agreed. I clearly remember Vazquez being one of the best pitchers in the 2nd half. He's a good pitcher and I would love to have him here. Too bad other teams are accepting the Yankees garbage for good quality players.
  9. The truth is Vinny should not have been hired in the first place.
  10. Yankees having an excellent off-season and they really haven't given up much.
  11. There's just too much wrong with this team. Holes all over the place. I too am not too sure on Cutler anymore. He has looked REALLY bad as of late. He's not even throwing close to 200 yards anymore. Is it because he has lost confidence or has Lovie and Turner told him to dink and dunk? An entire overhaul is necessary at this point and as far as Tommie is concerned it's time to cut that overpaid bum.
  12. I'd give him Z only if it meant they would take Soriano with him as well.
  13. LOL yes, just before back-to-back division winning seasons. He has built teams that can win 83-85 games for most of his tenure on the plus side. i guess we should just hope the rest of the division sucks forever instead of getting rid of a moron who's running this team into the ground at a quick pace. This offseason has been horrible thus far. Let's also not forget that Hendry has had one of the highest payrolls in the NL and usually can only muster ~85 wins with it. That to me is more damning. When you have one of the highest payrolls in the NL, I fully expect an above average team.
  14. I don't think I've ever seen someone use the word "obviously" more than Jim Hendry. I think he used it 35 times in the article he was quoted below. http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/3115 Obviously Jim, you screwed up.
  15. Just because Kenny Williams lucked into a title doesn't mean he isn't an idiot. In fact Williams is as big of an idiot as the GMs of the Cubs/Bears/Bulls but he was lucky that his boneheaded moves worked for one season. At least Kenny sealed the deal and got Peavy something Hendry could not do. LOL
  16. http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/sarah-spain/assets_c/2009/12/milton-bradley-chicago-cubs-thumb-280x397-46367.jpg
  17. If this was the only bad thing he did, I'd probably say no. The collective body of work is definitely grounds for firing. In fact, if he hasn't earned that privilege at this point, I have to wonder just what every GM before him did to get fired, because at this point, Hendry is not fit for duty. And I'm quite certain that many were fired for much less. This offseason is an absolute disaster. Hendry would have been wise to hang on to Bradley in 2010, that way he could use him as his scapegoat once again. Instead, Bradley won't be here and who will we pin this blame on this time? We've had at least 3 off-seasons of absolute disaster during Hendry's tenure. Enough is enough. Somebody needs to fire him.
  18. So according to this Cubs are close to signing Byrd now that the Bradley trade has happened. Is Byrd a Type A or B free agent again? The guy mentioned the Rangers will get a sandwich pick if we sign him. http://rangersblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2009/12/bradley-to-seattle-byrd-to-cubs.html
  19. thank you. for all here that absolutely know for a fact of what silva will do, well what's your excuse for what you absolutely knew for a fact of what bradley would have done this year from past history, all of his past history on and off the field? when silva starts trashing the main people who help pay his salary (that would be the fans who show up to the ballyard, buy overpriced concessions and souvenirs), then i'll throw him under the bus. until then silva may or may not do well this year. but none of us knows FOR 100% CERTAIN that he will be a bust this year right now. Remember when the Mariners tried to have a mutiny against Ichiro? Who do you think orchestrated that? For $15 million, Silva better be making balloon animals in the clubhouse. Apparently he's just as bad, if not worse, than Bradley. http://ussmariner.com/2009/03/27/ichiro-returns-to-fetid-odor-of-silva-suggestions/ LMFAO!! Only the Cubs would end up with someone worse than Bradley!
  20. I believe the Cubs would have had a MUCH easier time trading Bradley if Hendry didn't suspend him and open his mouth about him. I can almost guarantee it.
  21. Even Shawn Estes wasn't as bad but it would be close.
  22. You have to trade him if there is a team out there willing to give you just 2 million for him. I just don't see how Silva can any way be worth anything to the Cubs.
  23. From what I heard the Mariners had no interest in taking Bradley until the Lee trade came about. Now they are more willing to take him aboard since they expect him to be another piece to help them contend. If that makes sense. That makes sense. All of a sudden the Mariners look very good on paper.
  24. Why? It's not like we booed a good player to the point he had to be traded for an awful pitcher with an awful contract. So all of a sudden this is just the fans fault? There's a lot of blame to go around and you make it seem Bradley is a little angel who can do no wrong. The reality is Bradley is a head case who could not handle the pressure. Hendry made things worse by suspending him and ensuring he lost all of his trade value in the process.
