    Peavy is an ace. Gallagher could reach that status, but its unlikely, and the Cubs are in total win now mode. If the Cubs could buy low on Peavy, it would definitely behoove them to do so.

    Lets get them to overpay for Z! (am I the only one who is worried that he will have these continuous back problems before not too long?) Santana, Adenhart, Wood, Kendrick, and Mathis :D

    How can you say that when (assuming 1B plays in 150 games) Derrek Lee plays 100 more games and Alfonso Soriano replaces Juan Pierre? The rest is pretty much the status quo. This seems close to .500 right now with the potential to be much better with a couple of solid additions to our pitching rotation.

    Now we need to get Igawa, trade some of the dead weight contracts (Izturis, Dempster, Eyre, Jock, and hopefully Rusch retires) so we free up some more money for legitimate upgrades at need positions like SS and get a starter or two in trade (Westbrook or someone else). I'd be comfortable with a rotation of Z Hill Westbrook Igawa Prior/Miller/Young guy With a guy like Lugo at SS, we'd have the best offense in the NL, even if we were breaking in a guy like Pie in CF (he really becomes crucial to this team since it will need good, cheap, young players since we're spending a lot of money for a few players. Also for when Z breaks the bank.) Get Pie in there now when we can have an offense good enough to hide him until he becomes a better overall player. His D in CF is also much needed with two questionable corners surrounding CF.

    Can we toss in Izturis, Eyre, and Jones and get Tejada too?? :D Then we can play Pie in CF and have a middle three of Lee, Ramirez, and Tejada. That would be quite amazing. So unrealistic.

    I'm pretty sure Cuse said in this thread that Louisville would score 80 on both of these teams. And while I know Cuse to be the biggest Big East Homer I've ever seen, I'm pretty sure he was exaggerating the same way Soul is.

    I do not foresee a scenario other than the voters don't want a repeat in the title game that ND jumps Michigan.

    Have we yet determined if West Virginia's biggest win over MARYLAND WHO GOT PUMMELED TODAY BY A SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE BC TEAM is better than USC's ridiculous resume? I know USC had a bad loss. They've also had some enormous wins over very very good teams. USC is at the top of the one loss teams right now in my mind.

    If the Heisman was all about stats, Colt Brennan and Timmy Chang would be reppin Hawaii with their enormous numbers. Anybody who has Quinn above Troy just doesn't know how good Troy really is. After this game, the race is not even close. I was in a bar with all OSU fans and it was amazing. The place was rocking the entire time. Drinks and wings on the house after Pittman gained that last first down :D Totally raucous day. I can't wait to destroy some inferior team on January 8th.

    Demp and Eyre for Lee and Westbrook?? I know most aren't big Cliff Lee fans, but another innings eater who could shave half a run in the ERA would be very valuable. Would be nice if he K'd more guys though...
