  2. I'm also interested in this...making the same trip in August.
  3. says Lou tells him Dempster is the #3 man....
  4. Ronny on right now...gosh it's good to hear him talk baseball again.
  5. Sean and Kevin did pitch but they threw early at 0800. I will be in AZ next week. \:D/ How long you out there for? I'll be there the following week...I'd be happy to trade you a couple beers for an autographed baseball :D Actually I will be in Mesa from March 1/10th and would love to take you up on your offer. ;) I will be there the 7-9th...send me a p.m and I'll give you my cell #, I'd be happy to buy a frosty one for one of NSBB's most valued contributors...and any of their children who might want one too... ;)

  7. Rut ro Shaggy... I sure hope he's alright....
  8. the Sheffield House is a #$%# Hole to end all #$%# holes...we stayed there a couple years ago...there was actual grafiti on the sheets...people had signed the bed spreads...we slept on top of the covers and by 7:00 a.m. the next morning had made arrangements to get a hotel out by O'Hare and take a cab back into the game. My stay wasn't as bad. The shower was horrible, but the room wasn't too terrible. I did bring my own sheets and brought some spray to spray down the carpets and bedspreads. I needed a cheap place and that was it. It was nice being about a block and half from Wrigley. Yeah...we didn't dare try to shower...I mean...with the garbage still in there...seriously...when we were there it was AWFUL.

  10. February 28 @ 2:05 PM against San Francisco. Cubs.com has this wonderful thing called a schedule. When's the first time we get to hear Pat say "Chicago Cubs Baseball is on the Air!"
  11. Why? Just to make us feel like Theriot really is a good option?
  12. I'll be sitting in a conference room for 48 hours straight, trying to make sure my customer's needs are met. And it will no doubt be bitter cold outside. Yes, this is a blatant play for sympathy  Have fun down there. Not sure if you have been before -- take a jaunt over to Fitch in the early morning, they'll be doing practices that are really open. You'll have a great opportunity to pick up a baseball or two off a foul ball or a homer. I got like 3 in just about an hour last time I was there :) Thanks for the advice...I just got confirmed today so I'm officially going...anyone else with thoughts/ideas of cool things to do while there it would be much appreciated...
  13. With the talent they've got...and a new stadium, in Miami...that team might actually be good.
  14. Wait...forget about roberts for a second...this seems to indicate Hendry made a good deal on the Todd Walker trade...huh? I didn't think that was possible.

  16. Yipee!!! I just found out, compeltely unexpectedly, that I may get to go to Spring Training March 7-9!!! If this pans out I will be SOOOO Pumped....Wheee!!!!!!!!!
  17. I disagree. Just because it might prove to be the longest thread ever (and for whatever reason, posters are trying to do that), does not necessarily translate this thread into being "the best ever". If you ask me, there's too much fluff in this thread for it to be considered to be one of the best. It's the "fluff" and not the actual on-topic discussion that makes this one of the best. Hmm. Interesting. I guess everybody's different. How do other posters/members feel about this? There was a fair amount of hyperbole in my earlier statement...that being said...LONG LIVE THE THREAD
  18. This is the best thread ever...this is the only thread...it is the beginning and the end...the alpha and the omega...it is spring training and the world series....the Cubs must surely now win it all. :amen:
  19. How many of these posts are just trying to be the first post on page 200?
