  1. Turn off the TV then. Geez. He's got a point. With this lineup the comeback chances are less than zero. But being that we're all Cub fans we're too stupid to turn off the tv. I thought you'd know that by now Meat??
  2. exactly. If we're .500+ after May 1, I'll be happy. Can't really gripe about the record, but the way they've gotten it is somewhat disturbing. If the Cubs can't hit mediocre to moribund laft-handed pitching any better than this (ala the last few years), they're going to have a lot of problems. I just hope the last few days were aberations, not the norm. Not to mention I've been thouroughly disppointed with Z. 2 games against the Reds and 0 wins (and a ton of runs). Not what I expected from our ace.

  4. It doesn't help when we had Pagan, Neifi, and Blanco all in the lineup on the same day (the terrible pitching not withstanding).
  5. Well aren't you just a little ball of positive energy??? :P I'd like to be positive, but I'm a realist first. You know the saying brown in brown out? Well let's just say I see a lot of brown on the field right now. Is it Ohman's 2.93 ERA last year you don't like? Or is it the 32 hits allowed in 43 innings pitched? But how many guys did he walk? Not to mention, how many inherited runs did he let score last year? (just asking). That was a HUGE problem with the pen last year. Nobody could get outs when inheriting runners.
  6. Why you doggin on Ohman? He was lights out all last year. He had one bad outing last time. I could be mistaken, but I don't think he's been that great since he came back from the injury.

  8. Normally I think power can be overrated but...it's hard to win when you only got 2 guys with any sort of power in the lineup. And that's giving Murt the benefit of the doubt (I think he'll hit about 25 this year)
  9. Since it got lost a while back, I wanted to post it again. In in response to Z's increased in HR allowed. What I'm getting at is a trend that started last year. Z gave up almost twice as many homers as he did the year before, which isn't a good thing when he walks as many as he does. In addition to that his K's have gone up while his GF/FO ration has gone down. It seems to me Z is throwing the ball way to hard, which inhibits the sinking action on his fastball. This means more fastballs are staying up in the zone, thus more are being hit out. Question is, what is the cause of the change? Does it have more to do with Z cognizantly trying to throw harder, or is it more of a mechanical issue? IMO, it appears Z has decided to rely more on the K and less on the GB, which I think is a very big mistake.
  10. Another one pitch AB. Jeezus Dusty gfet on these guys
  11. Sorry about that. I'm use to the flash chat where it gets censored out. My mistake.
