Since it got lost a while back, I wanted to post it again. In in response to Z's increased in HR allowed. What I'm getting at is a trend that started last year. Z gave up almost twice as many homers as he did the year before, which isn't a good thing when he walks as many as he does. In addition to that his K's have gone up while his GF/FO ration has gone down. It seems to me Z is throwing the ball way to hard, which inhibits the sinking action on his fastball. This means more fastballs are staying up in the zone, thus more are being hit out. Question is, what is the cause of the change? Does it have more to do with Z cognizantly trying to throw harder, or is it more of a mechanical issue? IMO, it appears Z has decided to rely more on the K and less on the GB, which I think is a very big mistake.
