Get rid of that kid. Wrong stat Pedro. If Ryu can't yield at LEAST 5 walks in 8 innings he has no business getting called up to pitch in Chicago. -
With the wonders Roth has worked with this pitching staff, his words don't mean squat to me. He's another guy who should have been canned after last year.

It wouldn't have mattered anyway. Until Roth and this entire worthless staff is gone these kids were going to fail. Just look at what happens when the kids get up here. Not one of them can throw strikes.

Not that he hasn't been horrendous, but you have to take into account Pierre has Blanco, Perez, Jones (when he was succking) and the pitcher hitting in front of him. Seriously, how many RBI chances has he had??

Or it may be the added pressure to produce in a lineup which routinely trots out the likes of Blanco, Neifi, and co on the same day. I know if I was in this lineup I might be starting to press.

AJP was coming home hard on a sac fly. Before the ball got there, he bowled over Barrett (with a forearm to Bare's head), knocking both over. AJ got up, slammed his hand on home plate, made a gesture towards Bare, and began walking towards him. Bare hugged him, said a few words, then jacked him in the jaw. Normally I'd say that was awesome. However the though of losing our best offensive player for at least a few games is sickening. I'll make sure not to watch during the duration of his suspension.

If the Cubs would have signed Jim Thome it would have been an absolute disaster. Now he goes to the Sox and is having an MVP type season at his age. Go figure.

Can anyone tell me what's happened so far in the game? Sounds like their was a brawl and it looks like Hill walked a TON of people.

Who is an underachiever on the Cubs? Ramirez, I guess? This team just flat sucks. They've not underachieving. They're just bad. "Underachieving" connotes that they should be playing better. They shouldn't. Ramirez, Walker (power wise), Pierre, Z (until his last few starts), Rusch (he shouldn't be quite THIS bad), Neifi and Blanco (apparently they wanted to get worse), Ohman (shouldn't be this bad). Conversely, the White Sox have virtually every position player playing above their career numbers (and most all are past their prime). I'm not trying to make the argument the Cubs should be blowing teams away. However one can't ignore these two teams' players are operating at opposite ends of the spectrum. To this fan its quite sickening.

A pitcher who's yielded 11 HR in udner 30 innings would be pretty comical if he didn't play for the Cubs. :(

Here's a good question; which team has more, the White Sox with overachievers, or the Cubs with underachievers?

Unless Maddux pitched a shutout we weren't going to win the game anyway. It's kind of hard for a struggling offense to score runs with Neifi and Blanco playing on the same day.

The sad part about it is Neifi's not even a good bunter. As a matter of fact with his speed he's extremely pathetic.
