  1. The "great quotes" or whatever thread is locked, but complete wastes of time like this one aren't. Okay.
  2. I wasn't able to follow today's game at all after the 1st inning... Anything important happen or anything I should know, other than we got our asses kicked?
  3. Trust me, let ignorance be your bliss. I refuse to believe that Adam Kennedy hit a grand slam. ESPN is lying to me. Please tell me what really happened.
  4. Maybe it's not the umps... Or.... it.... definitely...... is....... Think about it. Who's more likely to be seeing the strikezone correctly, a bunch of professional umpires standing right behind the plate or some kid on a message board who is watching on TV with a centerfield camera positioned off-center? I wonder. Are you serious?
  5. If he's just now going, it can't be anything major. This could actually be a blessing in disguise, allowing him to take maybe 3-4 days off and get some much deserved rest, and be ready to roll for the playoffs.
  6. I have a hard time believing he's afraid of being hit. Me too. You would think that that fear goes away pretty early on. Like, little league.
  7. Is this a serious post? The last sentence is the only one that's not absurd.
  8. I especially like the part where he says "Wrig-uh-ly Field" and the crowd starts cheering.
  9. This is frustrating for me. I really, really want to see them clinch on Sunday (because I'm going to be there). I'd rather them not clinch Saturday because we'll be driving up, and I want to see it happen, whether it's in person or on TV. And obviously the only way they can clinch tomorrow is if/when the Brewers lose. Which is no fun. In an ideal world, the Cubs win tomorrow or Saturday, but not both... and the Brewers win both days. Which sets things up perfectly for Dempster to slam it on Sunday.
  10. Wow, Cecil Cooper needs to get a grip on his players. They've completely lost focus. How embarrassing. It's comical that they're blaming anyone/anything other than their owner.
  11. Eh, I like the other version (the 6 minute one) much better. Of course, I've been listening to that one for months now so it's grown on me quite a bit. The problem with that one is the quality sucks, and there's a very extended delay between the first and second verses.
  12. That's excellent, but why don't they have Lee's game winner up? Not sure, but you can watch it on ESPN. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=280918116&action=playvideo&hcmp=motion
  13. Awesome pictures, thanks for posting them. The one where Lou looks like he's about to take a bite out of DLee's shoulder is great!
  14. If he's off the roster, who takes his place? Hart? Guzman? No thanks on both of those guys. I think he's still on it, barring a complete meltdown this last week. I don't think he'll pitch much, being behind Wood, Marmol, Gaudin, and possibly Marquis on the RH depth chart, but I think he'll be there.
  15. It says the file was deleted.
  16. Someone please post pictures of the celebration.
  17. I might be able to catch the end of this one.
  18. Those numbers have to be heavily skewed by the 8 of 9 streak at the beginning of the month. This team and that team are clearly not the same. I'm not sure if it's logical to look at the overall September numbers to make a conclusion.
  19. I still can't believe they came back, that's unreal. I was talking to my buddy on the phone and he basically said that we had lost. So I pulled up ESPN Scoreboard, saw there were two outs and the bases were empty, so I figured he was more or less right. I come to this thread to read the end of game posts for some reason, only to find out the Comeback Cubs (corny, I know) have done it again!
  20. Holy ****, are you kidding me? They came back?! Weren't the bases empty with 2 outs in the 9th? Wow!
  21. So much for letting Harden throw 115 pitches so that he could get a W.
