  1. Todd Jones is one of my favorite non-Cubs. What a great guy.
  2. Todd Jones is one of my favorite non-Cubs. What a great guy.
  3. Is it wrong that I just laughed when I flipped the game on and saw the score?
  4. You guys are troopers. I've never been a big fan of power hour or century club. I'd much rather enjoy my beer than take it by the shot every minute. But if you're in the market for beligerance, then century club is a good call. In response to the milk thing... give me some chocolate chip cookies and I'll drink as much milk as you can find.
  5. I'm not either. With my job, I make my own schedule and I used to plan my day around the Cubs. Now, I have absolutely no desire to watch them play. Thanks Dusty!
  6. That can be done. Easily. Surely you've heard of Power Hour (60 shots in an hour) or Century Club (100 shots in 100 minutes).
  7. Are you using all lower case? The password is case-sensitive. Sure am. I tried it several times but to no avail. Oh well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Or something like that.
  8. Here's the deal. I have (4) tickets to the Tuesday September 6th game and (2) tickets to the Wednesday September 7th game. I just spent over 600 bucks on textbooks for this semester, so I need to get rid of some baseball tickets. The tickets for the Tuesday game are in section 219, row 4A, which is to the immediate right of the right field bullpen, 4 rows from the field. Face is 36 bucks apiece. The tickets for the Wednesday game are section 272, row 13, which I believe is behind third base. Face value for those is 27 apiece. I'd like to sell these and make a bit of a profit, but if no one wants to overpay to see our pathetic Cubs, I understand. Someone, PLEASE help me and my credit card bill out!!! These are the last two times the Cubs ever play in Busch... take advantage of it!
  9. I'd love to get in on this, but its telling me that the password is incorrect... what's up with that?
  10. Priceless. Agreed. That is absolutely hysterical.
  11. The winning streak starts tonight.
  12. I'll trade an out for those two runs. Nice job ARam!
  13. ??? You're saying that Prior consistently struggles in the opening innings based on what exactly?
  14. I don't know if I can jump on the Hendry bandwagon... he hasn't done much for the pen lately.
  15. There's speculation already that the Cubs will waive Hairston when Corey returns. I'm sorry, but that's absurd. Anyone who is speculating that Hairston will be released is out of their mind.
  16. Why are you assuming that he was taking shots at Sosa rather than talking about players in general? Not once did he mention Sosa. I thought it was a great speech. It was funny to see him make fun of himself, great to hear that Santo has another vote, and it was great of him to have The Hawk stand up. Very good speech overall.
  17. It's more than just about every other team out there, imo. I wasn't saying that with a scowl on my face... I had no idea what had gone on today, and I figued that NSBB would be the quickest way to find out. Lawton for Dubois is a great deal for us, and that's essentially what it was.
  18. How good are Colon and Minor? Better than Novoa?
  19. Hasn't Lawton been a terrible second half player throughout his career? Edit: After checking, no, he really hasn't. So go ahead and disregard this post.
  20. My God... they're in the 17th inning in Toronto.
  21. They won AGAIN?! Geez, why can't they go back to last place like they were earlier this year. And is anyone going to start the game thread for tomorrow's game or what?
  22. I realize what you mean. But good lord. I dont think people really realize the class of people he is in now. The list is now: Hank Aaron Babe Ruth Barry Bonds Willie Mays Sammy Sosa That is some GOOD company. Some GREAT company. I just don't get why people feel the need to point out Sammy's mistakes. Why isn't there a new thread started everytime Manny does something dirty, or when Clemens hits somebody? Sammy Sosa will go down as one of the greatest players to ever play the game; appreciate the fact that you got to see him play in Chicago for so many years. That or forget all the great things he did and point out every mistake he makes. I think the latter is pretty childish though.
