  1. Pierre sucked the first two months of the season, everyone knows that. But he's sort of offset that first two month slump (if you will) by having two real nice months in June in July. Depending on how he performs in the final two months, I'd entertain the idea of bringing him back.
  2. I'd hardly consider the above two games blowouts. There were others that I wouldn't consider blowouts, but especially these two. If you factor these games in, he's given up 11 runs in 38.2 innings. Still much better than his overall numbers, but not as good as the picture you painted.
  3. Queen has the lead over Pink Floyd? Queen?!
  4. I'm all over the Kerry Wood for closer bandwagon. I think he'd make a filthy closer.
  5. Sample size, Vance. :D Remember Mitre vs Halladay. And Mitre vs. Beckett in his next start.
  6. Wow, Hill's line looks pretty decent. Has he actually pitched well tonight, or is his line deceiving?
  7. I was amused by Grace's comment at the end of that article.
  8. Brad Penny currently wears #31 for the Dodgers... I would hope that he'd give it up to Maddux.
  9. I HIGHLY doubt that Maddux would agree to be a middle reliever/spot starter. Plus, he'd be horrible as a reliever considering that he's always struggled in the first inning throughout his career.
  10. Hill's starting? Cubs will lose for sure.
  11. Thanks for posting a link. I guess I'm underwhelmed by these deals. Thanks for all the info you have shared with us. I think its pretty cool that someone in the media still posts on a message board and leaves themselves open to critizism. In your opinion, what would you like to have seen the Cubs do? Thanks Ben I wouldn't have given Walker away for one thing. I would have gone the "prospect" route with Maddux, provided they were the right prospects. I just don't see this trade as making a big, positive impact. Izturis is probably OK in the right spot in the right lineup, but how many times have we seen that with this outfit? Any confirmation on who the prospects could have been? Kemp or Guzman like Carroll reported? Will Carroll appears to be right on. How sure are you of that?
  12. John Mabry is the cleanup hitter tonight. Oh God.
  13. Coming off the 4 game sweep of the Cardinals, I was excited about this game. Upon hearing about Hendry's latest example of how to be a failure, I couldn't care less.
  14. Nothing personal at all. And I'm not sure what you mean by "again." You must have me confused with someone else.
  15. Well that's just dumb. We all know that Hendry is already trying to work out a five year extension for Izturis that comes with a complete NTC.
  16. That I agree with. This is supposed to be a respectable website... the thread title looks like something you see on Cubs.com.
  17. I wish I wouldn't have clicked on this thread.
  18. If Izturis wasn't going to make 4 million dollars next year, if he were slated to make a million or so, then I could live with this trade. But the fact is, he's going to be making more than Neifi Perez for about the same amount of production. AND, we had to pay the Dodgers to get him. That's not too big of a deal, considering that that money wouldn't have been spent elsewhere this season, but it's just principle. This trade looks like Hendry was trying his hardest to get rid of Maddux, why the hell else would he pay money for him to go away?
  19. I want to die. Is that a real quote? paraphrasing, but that was the jist. Ugh. I need a drink. I need a punching bag.
  20. How do you get this high up in baseball when your evaluation of talent is this crappy?

  22. Getting nothing back would literally have been better. Thats a joke. I rather get something, rather than nothing for him. Do you know how much money Izturis will make next year? I'm assuming not, otherwise I don't know how the hell you could say that.
