  1. Article on Chicago Tribune site saying that the Dallas Morning News is reporting it. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-060531cubstrade,1,6896453.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  2. But then you would've missed out on hearing the Marlins announcers mock our team. The freakin' Marlins announcers giving us grief?!?
  3. Did I miss a foul ball on the third batter? I guess I did. Trying to keep up gives me a greater appreciation for Fred and the awesome job he does in game threads. Gameday says it the batter fouled off three pitches, which were the only strikes in that AB. Thanks. I'm trying to go off the tv broadcast and it's tough to type updates and keep track at the same time. Does anyone even need updates or is everyone keep tracking through other means?

  5. Fourth batter- 7 pitches, flyout to RF First inning- 17 pitches for Kerry, 10 strikes/7 balls, 1 walk
  6. Third batter- 6 pitches, Walk 2 outs, 10 pitches, man on first for Kerry
  7. Second batter- 3 pitches 5-3 putout 2 outs, 4 pitches for Kerry
  8. No sarcasm. If the fielder has a mental lapse and goes for the tag on the runner between 1st & 2nd rather than getting the force, enough time could pass for the runner to score. Fair enough. I just think it's a bigger error in judgement to hope the fielder has a mental lapse and goes for the tag allowing a run to score then to hustle to the bag and hope that the shortstop drops the throw allowing the runner to be safe and scoring the run.
  9. He was hoping they would go for the run-down and a run would score Is that sarcasm? Weren't the bases loaded? A fielder going for the rundown would make no sense when you have a forceout at second.
  10. What was with Mabry watching the fielder throw him out at second? I understand not wanting the batted ball to hit you so the runner might hesitate and then let it get past. But he just about came to a dead stop and then watched himself get thrown out by the second baseman without even attempting to continue to the bag. Great hustle.
  11. No lot, but it's a lot easier to find parking, and it's like a 4 minute train ride straight to the stadium. Don't be confused though, parking still isn't guaranteed. You'll probably have to drive around the block once or twice if you're getting there late. I lived on Fullerton right by the el for five years, so I know the best places to look for spots when I go. That's why I always park there. And Vance, you're probably better off walking, or just spending the two bucks on a cab. You're really not very far at all, so I say just take the walk. Thanks. I'll be driving in from the St. Louis area. Any hints on how to get to the hotel? Vance, That's the hotel I stay at when I go up to Chicago. It's about 3/4 of a mile from Wrigley and a straight walk up Clark. About 2 blocks up there's a Walgreens you can stop at and pick up any water, sunscreen, etc you may need for the game and then as you get closer to the ballpark there are tons of restaurants and bars you can stop in to break up the walk too. It's a pretty easy trip from St. Louis. Take 70 or 270 to I-55 North and take that all the way to Chicago. Get off on South Lake Shore Drive headed north. Take the Fullerton exit, left on Fullerton, then Right on Clark. The hotel is on Diversey but the parking garage is on Clark just past the hotel on your left. Just print the directions from Mapquest for added peace of mind though. Those directions on Mapquest tell you to get on the Dan Ryan for like 5 miles. There is major road construction going on. All I have heard is stay away from 90/94 at all costs. They must have changed the route you take on Mapquest from last year then because I'm staring at printed directions from the site that have you take 55 to Lake Shore. I would agree to avoid 90/94 at all costs.
