  1. Beautiful curveball. Struck him out.
  2. Cobs had 4-0 lead in the first inning I believe, and Marquis just blew chunks big time. Couldn't throw strikes, and when he did, he got hammered.
  3. Thankfully the mute button will come handy tonight.
  4. I remember it very well, especially when I was a pup. I wonder one of the reasons why they did that so much was that Harry was very popular. I mean, in my opinion, ever since Harry passed, WGN just stopped doing it, or so it seems. Really, broadcasting the Cubs games, WGN's ratings can't be any worse than Buffy, America Funniest Home Videos, etc etc. can it? I don't think it had anything to do with Harry, because they were doing it long before he arrived. I'm not sure of the details, but I think I've read that MLB now has limits on how many games a superstation can carry. The Braves are in the same situation; most of their games used to be televised on TBS, but not nearly as many are any more. I think that's a stupid rule that MLB have to limit how many games a superstation can carry.
  5. Hell, I'm surprised that they left him to pitch to Soriano. I would had just give him 4 balls and take his base.

  7. I have also thought of that possibility. I was gonna mention that perhaps that Sean was just being called up just to get the feel of how MLB is, and use that experience while he goes back to Iowa, and whatever Sean needs to work on, he'll do that when he goes back to Iowa, whenever someone comes off the DL.
  8. Bruce Miles in the game thread said that Eyre is not DFA'ed.
  9. Woah Eyre DFA Nope Darn! What's the word, Bruce?
  10. Hmm... The cubs using him in the pen would only mean 2 things, in my view. 1. Ohman demoted, or 2. Eyre DFA'ed. Can't see the Cubs bringing up a righty for Ohman since he's the designated LOOGY (especially when Rapada is on the 40-man and is pitching well at Iowa). Yeah, but Ohman, at least in my view, haven't pitched well, even though he is being used incorrectly. Still, just looking through all the possibilities.
  11. Meaning that Sean getting promoted? Raisin's confirmation of peoriachiefs39 is Sean's Dad is good enough for me. No I certainly believe that part, I'm just hoping for some news blurb to shed at least some light as to whats going on. Ah, gotcha. I didn't know which one you were referring to, the promotion, or the news blurb.

  14. Yeesh, sounds like he's getting roughed up good at Dayton. Hopefully he'll bounce back.
  15. peoriachiefs39, if you're still around, hopefully you could be able to answer some questions. Did Sean say anything, or did the Cubs say anything about the reason of the promotion? Just wondered....
  16. Four days ago. His next scheduled start for Tennessee would have been tomorrow, which is also Zambrano's next scheduled start for the Cubs. Coincidence or not remains to be seen. Yeah, but didn't his father said that the family was going to Atlanta for the weekend? *shrug* Maybe they just live closer to Atlanta? His start and Z's start being the same day is awfuly coincidental. Yeah, that I can understand. But I agree with NCCF's and your assesment of their starts being the same day is coincidental.

Yeah, but didn't his father said that the family was going to Atlanta for the weekend? Of course, Sean is meeting with the Cubs in Mil, so anything is possible. *shrug*

  19. QFT... I'm assuming this is Sean Gallagher right? Who gets sent down? Is this a trade precursor? Yeah, it's definitely Gallagher and I know peoriachiefs39 is friends with Sean, but I am still really surprised. I wonder what's going to happen. Trade maybe or who's sent down? Guess we'll have to wait and see tonight. Not friend, peoriachiefs39 is Sean's dad. Congrats are definitely in order. I wonder what other roster moves are going to take place - especially with Sean not on the 40-man yet. That's all the confirmation I need then. Congrats to Sean, peoriachiefs and I do wish him well.
  20. In other news... viewtopic.php?t=41231 Gallagher promoted to the Cubs.
