  1. Sweet Jesus, what the hell is wrong with Griffey's lips. That's what I thought as well. Still though, for the life of me, I cannot name any fake player names on that game for the Cubs lineup.
  2. http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/gamecenter/recap/MLB_20070717_CHW@CLE i have a new favorite al team Heh, I remember playing that RBI Baseball on the old school Nintendo. I believe it was something like this. http://www.dmhcollectibles.com/assets/images/db_images/db_RBI_Baseball12.jpg God, I loved that game. My favorate in SNES was Ken Griffey Jr's game. http://www.consoleclassix.com/info_img/Ken_Griffey_Jr._Presents_Major_League_Baseball_SNES_ScreenShot1.jpg I know that game had all the fake names, except for Griffey himself.
  3. I'd pass. The Royals are my 2nd team, behind the Cubs, and Dotel is like Ryan Dempster. Gets two outs, then makes it interesting by walking somebody, giving up a single or a double, and it can go either way. Dotel still have been pitching well, don't get me wrong, but he has the habit of making the games a little bit more interesting than it's needed to be.
  4. This horse has been beaten to death and beyond. The reason is that following a discussion on a topic is easier if the discussion is in a single thread rather than fragments spread out across multiple threads. What's wrong with a little multiplication? :D
  5. She said she suspects it will be someone nobody's even thought of yet, so that rules out Cuban as someone she thinks is likely. Well, that's where it somewhat troubles me. I mean, the Mavericks weren't a solid basketball team before he came on, and when he came in, he changed the culture on that franchise, and look at them, they're winning basketball games and at least making on the playoffs year in and out. That's what Chicago needs, period. Unfortunately, I get a small feeling that MLB will balk that issue somehow, someway, and award the franchise to somebody else. I'm afraid that the MLB will award it to a person who can run a business, but is not baseball smart.
  6. Heh, then tell that to Boston, who got smoked by several 97 mph fastballs.
  7. RedIvyCub is a reliable poster. This guy/girl could be Gary Hughes or he/she could be some unemployed carpenter. I couldn't care less and I'm not inclined to believe some random poster on a fan message board. The behavior of MLB officals is very clear, as they've repeatedly stated that they want a baseball team in South Florida and they've done nothing to disuade Loria from making a mockery of the Marlins the same way he made a mockery of the Expos. I don't care what the person's "sources" say. No skin off my nose, cubinNY. You can choose to believe me or not. Doesn't matter to me. But I know as a fact that Loria is loathed and they gave him the Marlins hoping the whole thing would sink without a stadium deal and to help John Henry get out from under the Marlins. Raisin's word is good enough for me. So how much DO you know (and actually say)? Like for instance, could you tell us anything new related to issues such as Cubs taking on salary this season or the sale? Sadly I am as much in the dark as you for the most part. They are really keeping this whole deal on the down low right now. I do know that they are accepting applications which is obvious to everyone. I also know that Tribune is preparing their package to present to prospective owners. From my understanding, they will try and take the company private prior to the sale of the team which will be finalized prior to the Zell transaction being completed for the purchase of the Tribune Company (lots of FCC issues involved with cross ownership of media outlets right now). This is due to the fact that Zell has his ownership interest in the Sox and as we all know, ownership interest in two clubs in not allowed. John Henry had to divest his interest in the Marlins prior to his joining the group to purchase the Red Sox. John Henry was added to that group to make it a credible bidder from my understanding of things. I also suspect that the winning bid will be someone that no one here has even thought of who will fly under the radar until the deal is close. That often happens. And no, it won't be Jim Anixter because he wasn't allowed to buy it from the Wrigley's 25 years ago so he won't be allowed to buy now no matter who his group is. Fair enough. If you are allowed or if you have any knowledge, or just a good guess, what are the odds of Cuban becoming the owner of the Chicago Cubs as of this point, based on what everybody knows?
  8. How funny it would be Kendall finish it with a Game-tying homerun. Poetic justice.
  9. Hello? Guys? It is the San Francisco Giants here, not the Detroit Tigers.
  10. OH MAN I walked in the freaking run! GET HIM OUT OF HERE!
  11. I remember Zambrano doing the fist pump after catching a soft line drive off a long battle with Bonds, but odn't remember Prior. I think it's when Prior nearly brushed (or might had hit him) the old man, and Bonds almost went to the mound, IIRC.
  12. Where is Prior? I remember him pissing off Bonds. That was awesome.

  14. I haven't been following the game thread until now, but if people are laying that on Kendall, they're being simply ridiculous. short hop on a throw from Soriano. Yea its stupid of us to expect a major league catcher to come up with a short hop. Problem is, he's been playing like a minor league catcher thus far.
  15. It has now been mentioned 3 times. I figured, but no harm anyways. Thanks. :D
  16. I guess it may have been mentioned, but Bonds won't be in the line-up tonight. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Ak_1oucloRtc_q931dRpldA5nYcB?slug=ap-giants-bondsout&prov=ap&type=lgns
