  1. Nice play by Hairston to snatch that out of the air.
  2. Jesus... Have I ever said that I dislike Carlos Hall?
  3. Cedeno lost a pop-up, but Corey makes a great play to save him, by throwing out the runner before he gets to second. 2 down.
  4. Clark strikes out swining. 1 down. 22 more K's for Maddux to get 3,000 K's for his career.
  5. Da Coach
  6. Hmm, Maddux is 11-2 careerwise aganist the Brewers. Go Cobs! :D
  7. Here's a story about the incident from ESPN Wonder how many games he'll get suspended for being crazy... i.e. hitting the colors with his fist a few days ago, ala John Tudor... Crazy guy.
  8. Haven't heard much about Quantrill. Think he'd be an improvement over Remlinger? If so, then I'm all for it. *shrug* After all, I do think we do need at least 1 more veteran in the pen and to cut lose with Remlinger.
  9. For those who are interested who's pitching for this game, it will be. Chris Capuano, LHP (7-6, 3.22) Greg Maddux, RHP (7-4, 4.56)
  10. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/SwedeCarlson/Cubs/cubsweep.jpg Let's go Cobs! :D *3000th post. :D
  11. I would like to see what is the strength of schedule looks like in August and September. If the Cards are playing those teams in July, then I wonder what's their schedule looks like in August and September.
  12. Washington seems to be a totally different team on the road than at home, too. Yeah, I noticed that as well, which could be good for us. I didn't start paying much attention on the Home and Away record until recently when I looked back to their W-L on the road, and I thought to myself "Hmm, we should take 2 out of 3 aganist them."
  13. Also I want to add that Washington has been pretty solid, and that we're catching those two teams that are on fire for the most part. Atlanta has won the last 5 games. Florida however, have been on a slump as of lately.
  14. Wow, that is a tough one there before the all-star break. No, I also think the same thing about that it's important to the wildcard race. Also might I add that it's also important to finish the 1st half of the season on a strong note, so that the Cubs can build some momentum heading to the 2nd half of the season. I'm not sure how the Cubs will fare aganist the Nationals, but we seem to have the Braves number for the most part. I think the one that really conerns me is the FLA series. I'd say if we can go 6-4 or 7-3, that would be fantastic, considering the fact that Washington, Atlanta, and Florida are solid teams.
  15. Sweet. I'll have to tape it, even though I have it on DVD. Just hope that they'll have closed captioning, so that my deaf brother, who is a Cub fan, can be able to watch it, since the DVD was not closed captioning or sub-title supported.
  16. And another great decision by Dusty to pitch to Rolen with first base open while Grudz was up next. Unbelieveable.
  17. In the 8th, brining in Remmy aganist Larry Walker who has a .400+ something batting average aganist him. End result? Homerun. Nice work Dusty. Here's a new slogan. In Dusty we Trusty, we're busted!
  18. Oh for the love of.... Here I am, consistently checking my blood pressure to make sure that it doesn't go overboard, or that I pop a vein in my neck. I cannot understand why in the sam hill that Dusty would do the following.... 1. Waste Wuertz for just one stinking pitch. 2. Pulls Burnitz in favor of Macias. 3. Pulls Hairston in favor of Corey. 4. Pulls Dubois in favor of Hollansworth. I'm thinking to myself... WTF? Any MLB team would tell you that Jose Macias is NOT a baseball player, period. Why pull Burnitz? If you are going to pull him, at least put Corey in and not Macias! And Dubois was having a decent day. UGH! I don't care what happens, if the Cubs make it to the playoffs or not, but I want Dusty to be canned by the end of the season. This is inexcuseable.
  19. Trust me, the Royals are going to suck badly this year. Even some Royals fans are asking to see if they were mathetically elminated from the playoffs already.
  20. The only KC Royals site that I can think off top of my head is the ESPN ones. However, http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/forumdisplay.php?f=1 they do have several hardcore Royals fans and they do have their Royals "Game Day" Threads there as well.
  21. Haha. No, Treebeard did the sig for me, so I'm just representing his work.
  22. Heh. I posted a question on those question mailbags to Carrie Muskat. Just got an e-mail from that person. The answer I got?
  23. The first and only. Unbelieveable... I don't understand why that Macias was the first PH over Dubois or Hairston. Sure Macias may have "experience" But in all seriousness, Macias can't even hit worth a darn to save his life. You know this, I know this. So why has JH and Dusty haven't figured this out yet? It's sad. I honestly feel that Hairston and/or Dubois would give us a better chance of winning/tying the game than Macias. Macias and Perez are both in the mid 30's respectively, but it seems logical that they have peeked on their abilities. Hairston and Dubois are both in the mid 20's, and I feel that they both still have more room to improve their abilities, where their talent are already far superior than Macias for sure. If I was managing, I would rather have those 2 playing instead of Macias and Perez, becuase not only we are trying to field the best team on the field, we are also trying to help them become better in the future, especially giving Dubois some playing time. The only way they'll gain experience is to let them play. So let them play. I don't mind Macias being the first PH if he is saving a better pinch hitter for a better situation later in the game. However, today was not the time. The PH snafu was much worse than starting Neifi. Well if Macias was the first PH in the Arizona game (where Dempster was struggling IIRC) in the 3rd inning, then I wouldn't really complain that much. But since I didn't get to see the game, but read the boxscore, I am upset about that he would put Macias in the 7th inning where Dubois or Hairston would be a better option IMHO.
