The first and only. Unbelieveable... I don't understand why that Macias was the first PH over Dubois or Hairston. Sure Macias may have "experience" But in all seriousness, Macias can't even hit worth a darn to save his life. You know this, I know this. So why has JH and Dusty haven't figured this out yet? It's sad. I honestly feel that Hairston and/or Dubois would give us a better chance of winning/tying the game than Macias. Macias and Perez are both in the mid 30's respectively, but it seems logical that they have peeked on their abilities. Hairston and Dubois are both in the mid 20's, and I feel that they both still have more room to improve their abilities, where their talent are already far superior than Macias for sure. If I was managing, I would rather have those 2 playing instead of Macias and Perez, becuase not only we are trying to field the best team on the field, we are also trying to help them become better in the future, especially giving Dubois some playing time. The only way they'll gain experience is to let them play. So let them play. I don't mind Macias being the first PH if he is saving a better pinch hitter for a better situation later in the game. However, today was not the time. The PH snafu was much worse than starting Neifi. Well if Macias was the first PH in the Arizona game (where Dempster was struggling IIRC) in the 3rd inning, then I wouldn't really complain that much. But since I didn't get to see the game, but read the boxscore, I am upset about that he would put Macias in the 7th inning where Dubois or Hairston would be a better option IMHO.
